Adonis Stevenson can still be a tough fight for Kovalev

Kovalev isn't too difficult to hit and I honestly think Stevenson can pose a problem for the Krusher. Don't get me wrong I think Kovalev can win this by knockout but it won't be an easy task. One things for sure, this match up could be a lot better and competitive than most people think and I expect a lot of fireworks. Which is why I think this fight, outside of Pac-Mayweather, is my most anticipated fight.

Agreed,Stevenson hits harder than pascal and is faster from a south paw stance.kovalev will need to tighten his defenses from the pascal fight or he could be in trouble

    Rigo-Loma for me.

But yes, of course Stevenson is still dangerous, his power and speed alone is a danger to anyone. But Kovalev for me has to be the favourite now.

I thought he would have zero chance of any success but now I see him giving Krusher some problems.

That jab to the body he likes to throw to take guys movement away won't work on Superman and could leave him open to a flush straight left.

Pascal could have done a lot better with the movement and stamina of Stevnson. As it was , he hurt him with his speed thrown from a stand still.

Interesting fight now more than it was.

    Froch vs GGG is mine.

Kovalev - Stevenson needs to happen tho. IMO Kovalev puts a clinic on but Stevensons big left is undeniably a potential fight changer.

Agreed,I think it would be a cagey affair for a few rounds to be honest with Stevenson trying to set traps for kovalev to walk into his left but kovalev seems a smart fighter when he's switched on I just don't think he respected pascals power too much

People never really assessed Kovalev's all around skills. All they saw was him knocking out people but when he fought Cedric Agnew, and Caparello, the weakness in his defense was exposed. He has improved in his boxing but his defense is still lacking. Pascal really shed the light on it. Kovalev was literally running into right hands and if Pascal didn't have such a bad boxing style himself, the fight would have been much different. Stevenson is technically a better boxer than Pascal and hits much harder. He also has a single shot delivery much quicker than Pascal. He has a real chance of knocking Kovalev out. Having said that, Kovalev has an equally good chance of knocking him out. It's not a cakewalk for either fighter.

Of course he poses a danger. He's the 2nd most dangerous opponent for Kovalev outside of Beterbiev. Kovalev may have accomplished a lot more recently, but it doesn't man Stevenson is a pushover...he's got a lot of power and some good athleticism.

There are things that Kovalev has advantages in.

    - Kovalev likes fighting southpaws, and he's got that great southpaw killer...the straight right hand.
    - Stevenson keeps his right hand low and jabs from the waist, which means he's very vulnerable to the right hand.
    - Kovalev is a better boxer, with stronger fundamentals in offense and defense.
    - Stevenson gasses late, so if the fight goes more than 8 rounds, he's very open to getting hit like he did against Fonfara.

Stevenson does have his share of advantages.

    - He's got faster handspeed.
    - He's more athletic.
    - He probably has better 1 punch KO power in his left hand.

Kovalev by KO in 2, I think. Pascal and Hopkins gave him a tougher night than Stevenson would. :nod
