After his fight with Pascal, Kovalev said in an interview: "His style was very crazy and very wild. He punch very wild and he showed that he doesn't have a heart".

If you watch post fight press conference it looks more like Kovalev stumbled with his words on that one cause his english is bad. Basically what he was trying to say was that Pascal is a better talker then he is a fighter.

If the referee had not stopped the fight, Pascal would surely have a damaged brain or even be dead................

Pascal deserves every harsh word he gets considering the way he acted during the prefight lead up. If he had won, believe me the guy would have said much worse about Kovalev.

this most likely, Kovalev has always been respectful of his opponents after the fight

Dude relax. He acted the same way with Froch and Bernard. Didn't stop them from shaking hands and respecting eachother after those fights.

Part of the game is the **** talk before a fight. Part of the game is also realizing its just a game after the fight is over.

Exactly, even Bernard and Pascal are very friendly towards each other as well. Even immediately after their fights.

I actually find Kovalev's words on Pascal after the fight refreshing as he genuinely seems to dislike Pascal. This routine of talking sh!t before the fight and being humble afterwards has grown old on me. Kovalev is a different character, for example before the Hopkins fight, he was very respectful

I wonder why, does it have something to do with Sillakh being Ukrainian? :think

According to some that's all the same... Ukrainian, Russian, Kazach, Latvian, Belarussian you name it. Like Canadians, Mexicans, Panamanians are all Americans :yep

Jean Pascal had already used this comparison before, in part, saying that his upcoming bout against light heavyweight titleholder Sergey Kovalev was reminiscent of Rocky 4.

He’s brought that up again — and taken it one step farther.

“I think it’s going to be like a remake of the movie. You have the dark African guy vs. the Russian. So you’ve got the east vs. the west. You’ve got Drago, who killed Apollo Creed in the ring. Sergey Kovalev did the same thing maybe a couple years ago,” Pascal said on a Feb. 24 media conference call.

Pascal is referencing Kovalev’s stoppage win over Roman Simakov in December 2011. Simakov died days later.

“So I am like a huge underdog like Rocky was in the movie,” Pascal said. “I think in this movie, I’m not going to be Apollo Creed, but I’m going to be the Black Balboa.
