    No it wasn't.

They basically beat the same version of Hill. Roy did it more emphatically, but Dariusz got there first.

But Roy dropping back from HW, to reclaim the belts from Tarver whilst being completely exhausted, has to be a bigger feat than Dariusz beating Hill.

Yeah, I'm sure he'd have just landed on Roy, no questions asked. Because Roy would have just been stood there open, right?

Pascal proved in defeat that Kov is easy enough to hit. If Pascal could get through with wild swings, then what could Roy have done with his skills and blazing speed?

IF is the longest word in the English language.

IF Kov could have tagged him hard, then yes, Roy would have been asleep.

But it's more than possible that Roy had the hand speed, skills, shot variation, reflexes and footwork, to repeatedly hit him, and stay out of harms way.

Roy would have been able to hit Kov, much easier than what Kov would have been able to him.

That much should be obvious to you.

Disagree. And Roy wasn't 'completely exhausted' he had plenty of time to drop down and not even 10 pounds to lose as has already been told to you by several people on here.

It took 50 fights and 15 years as a pro for someone to finally find his glass chin. Prime Roy, before beefing up for Ruiz and melting down for Tarver would outbox the mighty Russian with blistering speed. After Tarver loss, yeah I could see Jones getting KO'd by The Krusher.
If Kovalev scheduled Roy for his next fight, I could see 1st round demolition by the mighty Russian of former ATG but washed-up Jones easily.

I wouldn't say Kovalev is 'easy' to hit Pascal landed a few good shots but lets not act like he was landing at will. Additionally if you have the Chin to take the shots it doesn't really matter. I am not saying Kovalev has an Iron Chin but he proved to be more durable than I thought on Saturday. We know Jones is not going to be able to take the punches Kovalev is throwing. I can't remember the last Light Heavyweight to have the savage power and punch placement that Kovalev does.

Did you not see the fight?

    He was completely exhausted.

He was running on fumes in the last three rounds.

If it had've been an old 15 round fight, I don't think he'd have made it.

    His tank was empty.

Also, he didn't have a long time to lose the weight. The fight was signed in September, 2003.

What do you mean not even ten pounds?

It was ten pounds of muscle, not fat.

Its funny how decent fighters come up like Kov has, destroys some ok competition, yet nothing really to write home about, then people want to throw them in these mythical match ups vs legit ATGs and then saying Kov would murder them hahaha, so silly.

Montell griffin probably would have beaten the krusher. Lets not get carried away because he beat Pascal now.. Pascal is no Roy Jones.

What am I'm saying is, I truly believe that Roy would have found him easy to hit clean and often.

Pascal wasn't landing at will, bit he caught him clean 5-6 times, and some of them were just wild winging shots. Therefore, IMHO, Roy would have had no problem.

Kov would have been a huge threat to Roy, there's no doubt. But Roy had the speed and skills to pull off the win.

The Google kings talking boxing again lol. Kov has fought 2 guys, and you have him beating a Jones who beat many men at 175 which wasn't really even his true weight. You're in such a rush to promote Kov to greatness because you cluesless baastaards dyck ride the first good fighter that you love. You clowns can't really judge fighters or classic matchups. You're Dyck riders to the end, and it was embarrassing reading some of the posts in this thread.
