Lara would have been a more interesting fight

Golovkin should fight Lara eventually if Lara is serious about fighting Golovkin

does Lara fight full time at MW? no, same as some claiming Ward is ducking Kovalev because he fought at LHW as an amateur

Simple, keep asking for fights with Canelo and Mayweather.

listen i like GGG. but he clearly is not standing by his word of fighting anyone from 154 to 168. lara is a much better scalp then willie monroe jr

I'm going to be cynical for a moment. We did see Pacquiao vs. Mayweather get made, but that fight had a colossal amount of financial incentives attached to it.

We've seen Stevenson call out Kovalev, and Lara challenge GGG. However, both Stevenson and Lara are with the PBC and would have to get the approval of Haymon to take the fight. If Haymon didn't allow Santa Cruz to fight Rigondeaux, who isn't a giant puncher, what makes you think he'll allow one or both of his guys to take on two feared punchers?

For Golovkin, I'm not sure what beating a Super Welterweight does to enhance his standing at Middleweight. The real fight would be GGG vs. Quillin. Let's hope Quillin steps up to try and unify the MW title.

If I remember correctly, Lara said he would go to 160 for GGG. But you are right, he is a division below and we honestly don't know how far this call out really went. Could of just been a publicity stunt, maybe GGG didint even know of this call out or it was never entertained. Both good fighters and would of been a very interesting fight even if they met at a cw of 156/157

Monore just won an entertaining tournament and is far more exciting than watching Lara (equivalent to watching grass grow). The Monroe fight has far more value, market-wise, than watching Lara run all night.

Bottom line Monroe will fight and draw more viewers. Lara is Dr. Nyquil

    More like logical
I don't understand why people expect to see a Haymon fighter at any weight in the ring vs Golovkin.
Even if it were a mandatory situation, we seen what happened when Kid Undercard was supposed to fight Korobov on HBO.
There is no guarantee when it comes to fighters from Run-n-Hide Promotions:rofl

Also, Monroe Jr is WBA #2 at middleweight, behind WBA beltholder Danny Jacobs and WBA #1 Chris Eubank Jr
I'd say that makes Monroe Jr the highest rated(realistic) challenger for GGG's WBA belt

Ggg vs Lara is a fight that fans want to see and deserve to see. Lara earned the fight after outclassing and embarassing Canelo. Lara is the clear no1 fighter at154 and Ggg is the clear no 1 at 160. Lara said he would move up. Ggg has the ability to make the fight exciting whereas Canelo didn't. Styles make fight. Let's see who prevails.

people keep asking what does ggg have to gain by fighting a jmw?...that's like asking what cotto or dlh had to gain by fightin floyd?... lara is the top jmw in the world challenging a top mw. how is that somehow out of the question?...it's a frickin 6lb weight difference and lara has fought at mw before and is willing to move up for this fight.....

but we all know ggg wont fight him....ggg had problems with murray, for chriissakes....he had problems with ouma. lara would be too much for him and he knows it.
