Here we go again. Kovalev won't be able to hit Roy with anything. Just like Golovkin wouldn't be able to even though Jorge Castro could. lol

The delusion of many of you Roy Jones fans is off the charts. He is literally Superman in their eyes.

They say he wasn't packing glass in his old lady mandible. Their reasoning behind this? Video footage of him getting hit.

They say other fighters couldn't possibly beat him in hypothetical match ups. Their reasoning behind this? Because it was impossible to hit him. lol

Nasty wasn't it. Ashley's post-fight interview was weird (I'll try and post it in a bit).

I have always liked Woods, seems like a straight up down to earth kind of dude.. I admire his toughness too.

Can you imagine if he had a deadly set of fists to go with his iron chin?:think

I don't think Roy's power at 175 was near what it was at 168. Roy had very good power at 175. Kovalev has savage power. There is a difference. They had different mindsets also as far as aggressiveness, activity, etc. That also makes a difference.

Also Kovalev says he doesn't go in there looking for the KO. He just plugs away and if he gets you hurt he'll amp it up.

I have no doubt Kovalev hits harder, and like you said, Roy was safety first for the most part at LHW.. Kovalev is more aggressive.

He is very aggressive though, so it usually doesn't take long of him plugging away before he hurts someone.

Yeah, I've always liked him too. He's a nice guy, although he used to be a bit of a tearaway in his youth. He used to drink a lot and get into fights all the time. He had a big potbelly and man b00bs when he started boxing again.

'Surprisingly, Clinton’s career very nearly never got started after the youngster packed boxing in aged 15. Tough-talking Woods picks up the story.
“I had about 80 fights as an amateur but even as a teenager I was working on building sites and grafting. When I stopped boxing I had no intention at all of going back to it.”

With no aspirations of turning pro, it took a brutal street fight to convince the former fighter to get back in shape.

“I remember it well, I’d gotten into a fight with two bouncers on a night out. They gave me a right-good beating so a few weeks later I went back there and smacked one of them in the mouth. They beat me even worse the second time (laughs). That’s what I used to like doing; work hard, go out drinking with my brothers and have a fight.”

The latest punch-up left the beaten youngster in a reflective mood however. At 22-years-old Woods was still fit from working on building sites but decided to get ‘fighting fit’.

“I was always a strong, fit kid. I liked a drink but never touched anything else; most of the lads then were on ‘whizz’ (speed) or ‘E’s’...I never touched anything like that. The drink put weight on my belly but otherwise I was still pretty fit.”

He's aggressive no doubt. He was more patient against B-Hop and Pascal though. He could've stopped B-Hop too if he really set out to from the start.

His hand speed impressed me during that sequence of shots he pummeled Pascal with on the ropes shortly before he slipped. He really turned it up at that point and tried to hurt Pascal.

He threw a couple combinations that I was impressed by.. Ugly said after the fight that it seems like Kovalev is still improving and that was scary.

I guess it would have been a good idea to say well away from Woods in a bar.

Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed reading that.:good
