That's a logical opinion, and you maybe right. But you can't just assume that Kov would have walked forward all night. Again, we don't know how he would have reacted if Roy had have caught him hard, clean and frequently. You're just assuming Roy would have ran and back peddled. But Kov may have found it hard to tag Roy, and gotten repeatedly tagged in the process. It's not beyond the realms of possibility, that Roy could have backed Kov up. If when every time he went forward, he got countered hard, it may have stopped him in his tracks and made him back off.
His best weight wasn't 160. How would he have had no business fighting Kov at LHW? He fought at LHW and HW. Is Kov made out of steel?
From that link. :deal Yeah, I remember it. I watched it and I think I'm sure I had it on VHS for ages too. :good
Well Glen Johnson and Tavoris Cloud were both able to hurt Woods with head shots numerous times and Ole Klemetsen and Jason DeLisle both dropped him with head shots too (I can remember the DeLisle KD but I'm pretty sure it was a head shot). And a guy called Sam Leuii from New Zealand hurt him with head shots as well. 'Woods must defend his European championship against the Frenchman Joe Siluvangi, probably in September, before cleaning up the British scene. Woods, gaining the 23rd victory of his career, showed composure under pressure. on Saturday. Woods' punching power proved decisive - but not before he had been rocked by his shorter opponent. After dominating the first two rounds Woods was caught by three right-handers to the jaw in the third round. Worse was to follow in the next round when a double left hook to the jaw rocked the champion. A swelling underneath Woods' right eye did not aid his cause in round five but Leuii went down early in the next round, taking a mandatory count of eight, although the punch that floored him was barely noticeable.'
:nono 'Hobson says part of the deal was that Woods kept his original purse share, which amounts to the biggest payday of his career by far. But Jones, he believes, never wanted to come to Britain anyway. It is true Jones has shown a similar disinclination to meet Dariusz Michalczewski, the World Boxing Organisation champ in the 12st 7lbs (175lbs) division, in Germany. But Hobson says it makes no difference to Woods.'
I do recall that Klemetsen was hurt by the punch Woods landed when Woods was knocked down. I thought that was one of Woods better performances. I was never really convinced about Woods but he seemed a good guy and surprised me a few times
I will never forget that fight.. It was the first fight I watched with my hillbilly uncle, and he was saying all week how Woods was going to rough Jones up. Then Jones came out rapping, and became a complete laughing stock with the people there and my uncle was talking more than ever. I am somewhat of a musical person and have always thought Roy's rapping was garbage. My uncle shut up though as soon as Roy threw a few punches, I don't think he had ever seen Roy fight, and was just trying to give me hell because he knew I was a big fan.
