GGG is a real champ, in middleweight. Around 2012 after fighting Proksa, when GGG's career really started, he said he is ging to fight everybody from 154 till 168 pounds!! This was 3 years ago. What happened in those 3 years??

Fighters who ducked Golovkin from 2012 - 2013

    Sergio Martinez
    Peter Quillin
    Sam Soliman
    Felix Sturm

He called everyone out after his fights, every single time.

Just shortly before the Macklin fight, because of all this ducking, he said he is going to fight everyone from 154 till 168 pounds.

    What happened??

Carl Froch said he is never going to fight GGG.
Chavez Jr. canceled the contract even though the fight was almost signed.
Andre Ward rather became HBO commentator instead of fighting GGG!

There was never a tlk about any other fighters except those free.

In fact, all of them were contacted from GGG's team and everyone ducked him.

Fighters at 154 like Floyd were never a real topic since there is going on much more between Manny and Pac. This fight makes more money than a Golovkin fight.

So, why the hell should GGG step up now to 168 after years of asking for a fight at 168??

    He has as potential opponents:

    Miguel Cotto
    Peter Quillin
    Jermain Taylor
    Andy Lee
    David Lemieux
    Daniel Jacobs
    Chris Eubank Jr.

All of them are decent Middleweights, there are still Middleweight belts Golovkin wants. He wants to clear his division, this is his focus now.

So, the question is why should he move up to 168? For what? Chavez Jr. fought in MW against Martinez, Froch already claimed he never fights GGG. Even after this poll he just disappeared, after his fans chose GGG forhis next opponent.
A Froch fight would make sense though because of the money they could earn with PPV.
Ward? Who the hell is Ward? He rather commentated the Macklin fight instead of fighting in the ring. He is not even ranked in boxrec anymore. Inactive. When was his last fight and against whom? Why not agaisnt GGG during the time when he wanted to step up in one division? Ward is a nobody, he brings no money, he probably cancels the fight anyway due to an "injury". Boring fighte, no one knows him, no one cares about him but he tries to be relevant again by mentioning GGG's name.

Erislandy Lara, a guy who ran a marathon against Canelo. A worse performance than David Haye against Wladimir Klitschko.A Super Welterweight. Is he going to vacate his title and move up to 160 or why should GGG go to SWW to fight a nobody who would get knocked out within a few rounds? Who is he? When did his team contact GGG?

If anyone is ducking GGG it's the rest, definetly not him. He would go down to 154 like he said a few days before. For a fight against Mayweather or Manny, a fight for millions of Dollars, a fight tat makes him even more popular. But stepping down for Lara? Stepping up for Ward? They are nobodies and not his time worth when there are superfights in MW against the fighters I mentioned before.

Deal with it :deal 2015 - 2017 will be a terrible year for you haters.

Agreed. This actually makes a lot of sense. Lara and Ward are not draws. Cotto, Quillin, and Lemeiux are draws.
Would love to see GGG vs Froch, though. Just for the sake of boxing.

He's a stay busy fight. Would it better if GGG fights nobody? Did Lara say he fights at 160? Did Ward tried anything to make the fight possible? Who else should GGG fight in your opinion, instead of Monroe Jr.? It's not like everyone is eager to fight him.

Sergio was injured, when GGG was first mentioned he hadn't even beaten Proksa, and when Sergio came back he was entitled to a tune up match since he'd been off for over a year with a ****ing knee injury.

And Eddie Hearn said Froch will fight GGG sooner or later, so as far as Froch being scared that isn't the case.

I'll believe when I see it. Froch wants a money fight with low risk to cash out with, then he'll retire.

Even though Ward said he would drop to 160 to fight Mayweather, I don't like that Golovkin followed suit and said he would drop to 154. I realize boxing is how they make their living and a Mayweather fight would give them two or three years worth of money if not more, and the most exposure to help build their name, but I think its bad form for Ward and Golovkin to say they would fight such a smaller fighter. Even though at least Golovkin would drop to Floyds actual weightclass.

I understand it, doesn't mean I support it.

Golovkin should just focus on 160.

Maybe so...... but Froch was being very glib and sarcastic with that response and either many fans on this site aren't quite sharp enough to have picked up on the sarcasm or they are just being willfully ignorant.

Also I wouldn't blame Froch for not fighting him, he has no real reason for it anyway.

I think it would enhance his legacy. By fighting and maybe even defeating Triple G, it would make fans in the US see how good Froch is. Right now people here look at Froch as a good fighter, but one who got schooled by the best SMW, who is an American.

Personally I'd love to see it. I have zero problem with it. But its a huge risk for his legacy if he loses.

I think he agree with you, personally I'd love to see Triple G lay him out.
