Just officially announced by Hearn. May 30th @ the O2. WBC 135lb title at stake. Linares is the present champ, claiming the vacant belt against Prieto in December, with Figueroa named champion-in-recess. Mitchell is the WBC Silver champ and rated #1 contender.
Fantastic. Great bout. Put your dollars on Mitchell stopping Linares mid rounds. He is really on form and packing some punch in that left hook-cum-uppercut.
Mitchell is pretty good but he telegraphs his punches, especially the left hook and uppercut IIRC. Linares would take advantage of that and stop Mitchell late in the fight.
Hmm, I'm not sure, I'm a fan of Linares so being a bit biased I'll say he takes it, I feel he's still a better boxer than Mitchell (who was impressive in his last fight).
Linares is extremely underrated on bf24. Everyone just looks at his losses but not at his improvements. :bart Fun fact: Linares has outlasted all three men who beat him. Demarco, Thomson and Salgado, they all lost their last fights. Linares by KO in the later rounds. Mitchell is going to get schooled.
Indeed. Linares has stopping power on the back foot and a higher skill level. Mitchell won't be in it.
