173... but who gives a fuk... at least he's, not trying to fight Floyd or Manny at 154... and he's fighting at light heavy weight.. 5 pounds above 168... Roy as a light heavyweight came in many times at 173, because he was in peak physical condition. Chavez has been out for a while so why not... but in actuality it's not as bad as you make it seem. What's your excuse for 5'10 GGG trying to fight 5'6 pacquaio if he somehow won may 2nd?? Don't bring up cheato either.

SOB Ward refused to fight Stevenson after being called out live on HBO, Stevenson said that he would come down to 168 and fight Ward, but Ward still refused. Ward said he would be Klitschko, but refused to sign a contract to do such, then, when asked about fighting Kovalev, Ward said that Kovalev was too big for him................what?! Ward will only fight in his home town, with his personal referee, judges, boxing commission, etc., Ward is a cheat................Golovkin wants to beat all the 160 lb. fighters, then he might go up, but at 168 there are no big fights................Ask Ward when he is going to fight Klitschko.........................he said he would beat Klitschko, so let's see him back up his words............

Ward didn't drain Dawson. Dawson called out Ward and said he would fight him at that weight in a post fight interview.

Nobody is more boring than Wlad. And its farfetched to think Ward could even make heavyweight and have any resemblence of the talen he is. Not so far fetched for GGG to go up a measley pound when he has come in over the super middleweight limit in the past. So no matter what ridiculous comment he made its far morer easonable to see a guy move up one division because he is already seen as the best than another to move up three divisions in a fight no one would give him a chance in.

Fighting at 164 is a catchweight for both of them not just for Ward.

8 pounds is a lot to give away when you are competing at the elite level. If both gave 4 pounds it sounds fair to me.

It is actually only 3 pounds if they fight at 168 .. so this should sound fair to you ...

Golovkin is very similar in size to Andre Ward.

Golovkin has been steadily moving higher fight to fight in his weight upon entering the ring ... from 168 (Proksa fight) to 170 (Macklin fight) to 173 ...

Don't have the Murray numbers but he was 173 lbs for Rubio (who came in over the middleweight limit and entered the ring at 181 lbs)

Ward was 176 lbs for Dawson (Chad came in at 185 lbs)

Golovkin is 179 cm in height (5'10.5") versus Ward at 183 cm (6'0")

    Golovkin's reach is 178 cm (70") versus Ward's at 180 cm (71")

So, GGG is putting on 13 lbs from 160 while Ward puts on 8 from 168.

A rather immaterial difference between the two as you said ...

173 lbs for Golovkin vs 176 lbs for Ward on fight night

As even as one could want ...

Depends. Is he more boring than Ward who won't fight at all?

If Ward doesn't take on GGG at catch weight, then he's officially ducking. He will then have ducked all top dogs in his own and the two nearest weight divisions: The Dirrell Brothers, Lucian Bute, Sergey Kovalev, Adonis Stevenson and tripple G.

The only kind of activity Ward offers the world of boxing is a Twitter account.

    Wow.

I´m not sure where do you get those numbers but if you are trying to say GGG is as big as Ward, you fail seriously. There is a reason why they are not in the same division. There is also a reason why GGG is able to go low as 158 for a weight ins (in 2015). There is also a system called day before fight - weight in. You should not compare their weight based on stats that are not reliable nor standards.

Ward wants to take every advantage against fighter like Froch, Abraham, Bika, Kessler and so on. If he is so great he won´t have to hang on those uneven terms all the time, and specially against GGG because it´s too important fight for history to be blemished.

GGG is much lighter and smaller in every department. If Ward is elite he should prove it in even terms (that is 164). No one will give him credit for Dawson win, because it was obvious that wasn´t Dawson who won the LHW title. It was weak version of the champ he used to be.

If GGG vs. Ward happens, it would go to the history books. People would remember it for all the wrong reasons if Ward wins.

And ward said he could beat Wlad so him moving up to 175 to fight kovalev should be no problem.
