Found this HBO and Showtime are working together to telecast Floyd Mayweather Jr. versus Manny Pacquiao on May 2 in Las Vegas.

In addition to making the fight a cross-promoted event, the boxing giants are also going to lend their most prominent on-air talents to the broadcast.

During an interview with 8CountNews.com, Top Rank CEO Bob Arum announced who will call what many are calling the biggest boxing matchup in history.

“The host will be James Brown from CBS, the blow by blow announcer will be Jim Lampley from HBO, the color commentator will be Al Bernstein from Showtime,” Arum said. “Roy Jones will be the boxing expert and Jim Gray from Showtime and Max Kellerman from HBO will work the respective locker rooms.”

With people likely paying $90 to order the pay-per-view, it’s nice to know that fans of either Showtime or HBO’s style will have many of the personalities they have grown accustomed to calling the action.

Thanks for that. I'm still also wondering about 24/7 and All Access and if both will be shown separately for each network. I sure as hell hope 24/7 will be involved because All Access is terrible in comparison.

Seems like a good team I would prefer Merchant over Kellerman and thank God no Paulie we don't need any Floyd nut huggers on the broadcast team

    Dude.

You don't have to subscribe to HBO to buy an HBO PPV. Same with Showtime. So it doesn't matter. It's a joint-broadcast PPV.

They should have no announcers. Would be infinitely better.

Lampley is fine as long as he doesn't have his nose deep in the jockstrap of one fighter or if he can stop from ejaculating mid fight. But I still don't care for him very much... Paulie is better than Jones but I agree neither should be on this fight. As for Max and Rauillo, or whatever his name is, they both suck so I'm glad they aren't one of the main callers.

You order ppv from cable providers ( TWC, DISH,AT&T...) not from Showtime or HBO.
