That 4 year ban is **** Ellerbe pulled out of his ass. USADA/WADA has no control over boxing. They are like consultants. You allow your gardener to discipline your kids?

    Know what I mean.

It makes perfect sense. It is a principle.

Because when the contract is signed, you have already put your signature on everything in the paperwork. You have agreed to everything.

You don't magically show up afterwards and ask for something else to be implemented unless there is some sort of agenda for not asking for it before officially signing the contract. Unless you are genuinely inept, which still doesn't excuse signing the contract without getting the terms you want.

It would be like showing up to the weigh in and saying "I will only fight if my purse is spiked 10%. Otherwise I'm going home."

I said the same thing about when Jean Pascal asked Hopkins for strict random testing. I would have supported him completely if he hadn't waited until after the contract was signed to ask for it. Pascal did the same thing with Kovalev.

But no additional money for Pacquiao even though he risked his life against a roided opponent ? :think

That's why Pacquiao is suggesting a $5M penalty for the cheater.:deal

Only one of the two fighters has ever had an issue with drug testing in their career.

The point isn't compensating the the guy who doesn't cheat. It's to prevent the cheating from happening in the first place. WADA's penalty is much harsher

Irrelevant. We are talking about the penalty.

Who cares? The fight has been a b*tch to make because of these kinds of accusations and demands...let's just relax and cool these suspicions because at the end of the day if these guys are or are not dirty it won't make the difference in the outcome of the fight. Whoever wins most likely will deserve their accolades. Neither man has ever tested dirty in their careers....unless you believe the story about Floyd....so we should just see what happens in May.

The problem isn't one fighter getting paid for the other one cheating. It is basically, "Hey Floyd, let me pay an extra $5 million so that I can use PEDs in our fight".

Screw that. WADA's procedure is "If you cheat, the fight is canceled, you're banned for 4 years (which probably means retirement) and you'll get sued by the other team".

That's incorrect. Pacquiao didn't even want the fight to be cancelled in the event of a positive test. The $5M was going to be the penalty. It's not going to happen though. If either guys tests positive, the fight will be cancelled, the fighter who tests positive will be subject to a large fine the NSAC as well as untold financial compensation to the other fighter.
