DALLAS Freddie Roach, the trainer of Manny Pacquiao, said he has worked with two fighters who tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs but takes precautions so it wont creep into his gym in Hollywood, Calif. Roach said one of his former fighters, Justin Fortune, was known to have used PEDs and James Toney twice tested positive for steroids, once when he was working with Roach. I wont say I didnt know, said Roach, referring to Toney. I never asked him, though. I never had a conversation. I could see his body structure had signs, his traps and stuff. He was either lifting a lot of weight or he was on (something). I think I had one other fighter on steroids also, Justin Fortune. I know hed been there before. Roach repeated for the umpteenth time, however, that Pacquiao is clean. He said he talked to Pacquiao after unsubstantiated allegations by Floyd Mayweather Sr. and others became public. I said, Manny, do you know what steroids are? Roach said. He knows so little about steroids. He knows less than I do. Is there a chance Pacquiao took an illegal substance by accident, perhaps consuming something with which he was unfamiliar? Why would you think that? he said. Manny gets tested after every fight and has never come up dirty. Without evidence, thats a bad assumption. Roach also has discussed PEDs with strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza, who works with Pacquiao. A hundred percent, he said. Thats the first guy I went to. Alex is a friend of mine and he works with me. My reputation is on the line with him. He assures me 100 percent that theres nothing out there. Pacquiao fights Joshua Clottey on Saturday at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
This is the very same Justin Fortune that said this about steriods in boxing a couple of years ago...... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PiOTdARN2vE Someone please embed this vid for me. Thanks.
There is two types of north american sports fans that don't believe in rampant PEDs use in sports, 1) young people - because they've still believe in heros and the nobility of sports and all that ****....and 2) delusional fans of one fighter and not the sport as a whole. They don't have a clue simply because they believe every word out of their chosen fighter's mouth, like it is gospel. And they don't follow this or any other sport close enough to realize that basically everyone is suspect. Fans that aren't from North america, wealthy Asian countries or Europe I can forgive for believing that these fighters are clean, simply because they don't have as much exposure the the balco's and barry bonds' of the world. So they may not be jaded yet.
I think Charlie Zelenoff is banned from Fortune's Gym Deontay had his ret@rd battle with Charlie at the Hollywood Gym
Wrong. Many British fighters have said they haven't been tested in years. David Price, Degale ... they want more testing because the system is lax and ineffective.
or because they don't have Balcos in those countries. It's mostly US fighters who are the ones getting caught, because they're mostly the ones doing it. The trouble with the US is they'll turn a blind eye to cheating if it's making money, culturally the dollar is everything. They'll cover up and protect the product/commodity, morality and national shame doesn't come into it.
The legal system there protects the athletes. Look at the Britons suspected of cheating in the London Olympics. The press can't even get their names released. If America didn't care, why do we bother testing at all? FAIL. Do you know why we're called United States of "Murica"? Our underdog colonies KTFO a B-level, overrated country during the Revolutionary war. :rofl:rofl:rofl
That's why it was qualified as United States of "Murica" numbnuts. I guess farmyard vegetables have better reading comprehension skills than you Are you going to argue the indpendent 13 colonies were called the USA before the Revolutionary War now? :rofl:rofl:rofl
^^^^^^^^^ This f*ggot's still buttsore over nobody believing that his PED-induced idol's trademark win was authentic.
