Hand speed. Awkward punching angles. Footwork. Southpaw stance. Everyone seems to think pressure is how to beat floyd because of that one JLC fight a decade ago. But that style and approach has been proved useless time and time again. Floyd actually welcomes that approach and thrives off it. The one constant in boxing, over the years, is "speed kills" (not stamina). Anyone that is gonna beat Floyd has to match or surpass him in speed. Also nullify his biggest weapon, the shoulder roll defense. PAC covers both criteria. Although I'm still picking Floyd by decision. But to say (or better yet, pretend) PAC doesn't have the tools to beat him is seriously ignorant.

And no, Canelo and Chino don't have the footwork or foot speed to beat Floyd.

I think Floyd has to worry about getting caught with something he doesn't see. Pac has quick reflexes and can land a good shot from nearly any angle. So, Floyd's defense will be key in this fight. I dont see him having much trouble countering Manny, though. The opportunities will be there.

The first Chino fight could not have gone either way. He won like 4 of the first 6 rounds, then was clearly outclassed and slowed down the second half of the fight. Even him and his team admit he lost. Get over it. And he won those rounds because he fought like a ****ing coked up ape. It took Floyd time to slow him down and figure him out. Those 2 can fight 1,000 times and Floyd wins every time.
Your point on canelo, putting his punches together great and all. Why do you think Maidana had more success when he had Floyd in the ropes than canelo did? Because he has an awkward style and lacks in technique. Floyd is almost flawless in defending against "proper boxing technique". It's when you don't use conventional punching technique that he gets confused and has to take time to figure it out. Canelos combination punching has already been proved to be absolutely useless against Floyd. I can't even believe you brought him up.

It's not right to say Manny is predictable

If he was he wouldnt have given all these guys so much trouble, let alone someone as great and with as high a ring IQ as JMM

In 2009 Pac was a fuken cheat. In 2012, he might still cheat, but he's a sitting duck.

I actually think unless the Pacquiao from Bradley I and JMM III shows up, he'll obliterate Floyd. And considering that Pacquiao is probably as close to hating Floyd as his kind little heart can possibly get...that Pacquiao is not gonna be showing up.

The style matchup favors Pacquiao HEAVILY. If the scoring is honest, I actually have a hard time seeing how Mayweather can win it.

canelo was useless the night he fought Floyd because he tried to match skill for skill which was mental. everyone knows the awkwardness and unpredictability from chino is why the first match was so tough.

pac does NOT really have the tools needed to beat Floyd.
SP giving Floyd "problems" is one of the biggest myths in boxing. he lands MORE against them and gets landed on less.

IF pac had the reach advantage with a really good jab he would have the major tools needed BUT he has zero jab and he no reach what so ever. wicked predictable, same thing every single round for damn near 20 years as a pro. NOT a single difference in his fighting style nor had any tools been added, same exact fighter from 1999. just bigger and stronger but nothing else.

if we were talking a a Vernon forrest, that dude HAD the tools to beat Floyd, doesn't mean he would but he had the tools. on 5/2 everyone will see the lack of tools pac has for a chance to beat Floyd. without landed the hatton shot 3/4 x in succession then its a wrap

This is one of the potential factors. From round three of fight I to the knockout blow in fight IV, Marquez troubled Pacquiao because he was willing to engage the incoming threat. Mayweather's reach and manoeuvrability could make up for it, but he's a bit more stop n' start these days. To carefully diffuse the threat might prove less efficient if Manny keeps pumping those arms.

I don`t think this is an easy fight for Pacquiao but it is a very winnable one for him.

If Pacquiao was an easy fight for Floyd this fight would have been made years ago but instead of facing the challenge of Pacquiao the Mayweathers disgracefully labelled Pacquiao as a cheat and Floyd Snr went on record to say that he feared for his sons life after seeing Pacquaio up close.Uncle Roger went on some mumbling rant about the drugs the orientals used in wars while Floyd himself went on the record saying he was smart for not fighting Pacquiao because he didn`t want to end up disabled.

Now lets not kid ourselves that the fight is taking place because its an easy nights work for Floyd and Pacquiao is shot. The fight is taking place because the Mayweathers were backed into a corner by Showtime who have had zero value for money from Floyds recent fights.

I can see Pacquiao winning on workrate alone as the judges will favour a busy boxer who throws punches cheered to the rafters by the crowd in the back seats who cannot see compared to a defensive fighter who will probably avoid many of the punches but will not be busy himself enough to win rounds.

    5 losses Pac has taken:

    1. 3 rd round KO, 1996
    2. 3rd rd KO, 1999
    3. 12 rd UD, 2005
    4. 12 rd SD, 2012
    5. 6th rd KO, 2012

#4 Was a robbery, so 4 legitimate losses, 3 of which have been KO. The 12 rd UD was against Morales who he subsequently destroyed in 2 more fights. Now that 12 rd win was due to Morales throwing a lot of punched and trading with Manny. The JMM fight was the same thing - JMM throwing a lot and trading.

The point is that history has shown that to beat Manny, you either have to KO him or throw a lot and trade punches. Floyd rarely KOs anyone, is not that busy throwing and never is willing to trade punches.

I just do not see floyd winning using his usual style, he will need to throw more, trade or KO Manny. Manny is too fast and too busy for Floyd to beat him using the tactics he employed against Canelo or Maidana.

I see this fight as a sniper (Floyd) trying to hit a moving target who is fast approaching. Another ****ogy is a King Cobra snake vs a Mongoose; Floyd can throw fast accurate punches but Manny is like a mongoose, who avoids the attacks and usually beats the snake.
