Where do you rank Ike Weir?

    Seems like a real bad ass. His surviving record is quite impressive. Any further anecdotes or info beyond the usual internet stuff? Where does he rank among feathers?

    He was considered a marvel in his day and was the greatest featherweight of his time. I wrote an article on him that's on the IBRO site. He was Young Griffo's idol. Jim Corbett, Tommy Ryan, Frank Erne and George Kid Lavigne have all championed Weir's prowess as a fighter.

    Wish this site still let you attach pics. I have a hilarious story on Ike and his love of attending Irish wakes.
