Will this be another LHW draining themselves to get to SMW?

Oosthuzien would have been a decent comeback opponent IMO but if he really wants to make a splash then he should just fight Froch in the UK.

It's hard to see the result being any different but it'd do his ailing reputation the world of good.

Yes fighting a very faded past best, old fighter abroad would enhance his rep.
I do think the result could be different though. Ward/Froch 1 was a close fight and that was against a very fatigued Froch who had been on the road for a long time. Froch in the UK would be different and I think there was a reason that Ward didnt want to travel to Europe.

The OP says per Fat Dan's chat. You get a big zero for effort.

Is Andre Ward lined up to fight anyone, or is he still in the business of talking about fighting one day? #wastedprime (12:31 PM)

Roc Nation and HBO are in talks for his next fight and a contract. One possible date for his return if they can iron things out is May 30 in Oakland. But that's pretty soon. We shall see how it goes.

I have heard that Andre Ward's return opponent might be Tommy Oosthuizen... Can you confirm that? (12:59 PM)

HBO has told me point blank they are not doing that fight, to which I said good because it rots.

    one excuse after another.
And per the Showtime Super Six contracts, the semi-finals and finals were to be held in the USofA.
    And those scorecards were horrible.

I thought the British judges card was pretty spot on.

    :yep but 115-113? :-(

I am really curious to see whom Ward finally fights.
There is a slight possibilty of a Froch rematch but the egos involved could crush it in an instant.

I was just pointing out that the British official scored the fight 118-110 so Ward's experience of british officiating has been more than fair thus far.

:patsch No he didnt. Just look at Ward at the end. He was looking like he had been in a fight also.
That fight had many close rounds even if someone was to score wide. It wasnt a schooling by any stretch.
SMW schoolings would be Kessler against Andrade, Calzaghe over Lacy, Jones over Toney, but Ward/Froch had many close rounds and that was over old fatigued Froch who had been on a far tough schedule

Who cares what he looked like? Stats and eye test during fight show a schooling. Now you're making excuses for a Froch I see?

    What stats?
You just had to see how close many rounds were.
Tell me how you scored it and what rounds you gave which way

I gave Froch 1 round, which was round 9. Landed more, harder punches.

Capt mentioned yesterday that he hopes Froch fights Kovalev and for all he cares dies in the ring. You aren't dealing with a logical poster you are dealing with a fanboy who likes less than a handful of fighters.
