Everybody is talking about Floyd's counters, but it's going to be Pacquaio's counter punching that is the difference in this fight. That will be evident early on, when Pacquaio puts Floyd down with a counter punch. From that point on, it will be Floyd that's gun shy, not the other way around. Unless of course, Floyd wants to win. And if he does, he'll have to fight for his life and will get beat up in the process, win or lose.
That's because you don't know anything about boxing. You watch a gay ass Wilson Kayden video and now you think you know everything about the sport. The best thing about WK is that he's so blind with his fanaticism towards Mayweather that he can't even create a non-biased video. There is a point in one of his video's where he's praising Mayweather, when Mayweather is rotating right into a punch. On May 2nd, you'll see Mayweather do that same move, yet the outcome will be considerably different this time. Perhaps, WK will praise Mayweather when he gets knocked on his ass.
Not true. Mosley, for one, became very gun shy and reluctant to throw punches for fear of being countered as their fight went on. Same thing with Judah. Most of his other recent opponents have been naturally bigger, come forward guys.
I know. They both have the best stamina. I say Manny's is better though since he fights at a higher pace + intensity and avg more punches (almost double) per round.
I don't believe Mayweather will be able to time pacquiao so early to the point he becomes gunshy in the first 5 rds. If it takes around 5 for avg opponents, then pacquiao will take as long or longer I wouldn't see gunshyness till later when Mayweather has his timing down. You're logic overall is sound though.
There is no "timing" Paquiao. He doesn't fight on a rhythm. JMM never "timed" Pac he got familiar with Pacs feints and knew what what was coming next. This is far different than timing rhythm. With Sr. I dont see Floyd getting the coaching he needs to break down Paquiao. Right hook roll under same move every time. Watch Sr. in that video. Rather than coaching his fighter on what to do he instead launches into a stuttering tirade on Freddie Roach.
He said himself that he was reluctant to throw and was just waiting to land one big shot. I'm sure he was tired, but he was also afraid to let his hands go.
Well certainly it will take a bit to time him. If Floyd is tagging him right off the bat it wouldn't bode well for Pacquiao. But overall, I give it about 5 rounds as you said. Pacquiao has to do something in the first 4 rounds IMO. I just don't see it happening. I see Pacquiao getting broken down mentally and physically.
That's his hope.....it's why Floyd is working on power, to pop off early and gain that respect making Manny think vs just react. He's hoping that the residual effects of that 6th round KO is still present so he can control the tempo of the fight. This fight is decided in who controls pace. Floyd wants a more moderate pace where he can pick off singles or doubles that Pac throws out.....but if Pac has that spark he had in fights with Cotto, MAB and DLH we will see a Pac that won't deter easy. We hope this fight turns out to be action packed.....we already know it's competitive in terms of what each of these ATGs have accomplished in this sport, but the DLH vs Mayweather fight was competitive.....yet it was boring and did not live up to the expectations. This fight the pressure's on! Both have to feel the need not just to win, but win big.....meaning they'll be like old school fighters who took risk and had the stones to believe that their best would be enough to leave no question as to who the winner is. We don't see those kinds of boxers too often these days.
:huh That was a masterful demonstration of timing by JMM. Pac is easy to figure out. When you punch him, he gonna try and punch you back. He will throw maybe four or five punches and then almost immediately throw three or four more. That's what catches a lot of guys. They are not looking for next barrage so fast. If you hurt him, then he's really gonna try and get you back and that's when he's ready to be had or punished. You don't rush him on the ropes because he dangerous there. You just pick him apart.
Watch Marquez-Pacquiao3, where Marquez' gameplan was to limit his combination punching to two's and three's so as to prevent from going to the canvas himself. Limiting his combination punching, Marquez put a little more mus**** on the one two, thus it put Pacquiao somewhat in a leary mode. Watch carefully Pacquiao punch, they're mostly arm punches. Thats being gunshy folks! :deal With Mayweather being much quicker on the trigger, I expect Pacquiao to also be in flinch mode! :yep
That's Marquez. Marquez fights. Mayweather boxes. That's the difference. Marquez will throw punches when his opponent throws, hard punches with bad intentions of them. Mayweather doesn't do this. His style of boxing is touch and go and when his opponent is throwing a lot of punches at him, he goes defensive. He'll practically leap out of the ring if he has to get out of the way. Marquez will stand his ground throw punches or rotate and then throw punches. That's a pretty significant difference.
