    Steve Kim's twitter

"Word is that HBO isn't going to do Cotto's next fight unless there's a commitment to do Canelo next. They want a safety net"

Smart move...they did the same thing with Stevenson-Fonfara and he ran to Showtime :lol:

Canelo-Cotto in the Fall for no belt. No title on the line. Just PR vs MX.

Though it's good for us fans that they've taken this stance, HBO should think twice about playing hardball. They've already lost most of the TV worthy fighters and their Eastern European guys aren't proven draws.

If Cotto jumps ship they lose a star and the lineal MW champ. They're gonna be forced to match Canelo vs GGG sooner rather than later at this rate. Their roster's looking real thin

Like who? Mayweather with only two fights at best left in him is the only real major loss.

Kov and GGG have been doing huge numbers.

Cotto is a diva, Rican version of Andre Ward. Why should HBO fork out decent money for his Mickey Mouse fight with K9 or Heiland?

So HBO wants to force Cotto to compete with Floyd for the September date. That's what this is about, of course haters will read into what they will, as if Cotto don 't wanna fight Canelo, get real, he just don't wanna compete with Floyd when he's trying to get paid.

good stuff from hbo, they are not going to let cotto weasel around and take soft cherrypicks on their network. get in the ring and fight. canelo first, golovkin second, then maybe a soft touch up after.
