As someone rooting for Pacman, my biggest fear is that we might see Floyd use the jab and grab. He's the bigger man and might just throw single shots then clinch his way to a dull decision if the ref allows this.
5 years ago I would have favored Pac to outhustle Floyd. Today, I think due to their respective styles, Floyd is the fresher fighter. Pac doesn't fight for 3 minutes a round like he could 5 years ago. It's a close fight, but you have to make Floyd the slight favorite due to his size and de facto age advantage.

 

where does this "pac has problems with counter punchers" come from? he has problems with people named marquez... marquez and may are sooooo different. marquez will throw bite down and throw with manny. may will throw 10 punches a round. he wont go to war like marquez. you gotta take risks to beat manny. im not a pac**** but im just sick of the stupid *****s using triangle theories. this is a triange theory: just because "a" fighter beats "b" fighter and "b" fighter beats "c" does not mean "a" fighter beats "c".

 

Marquez throws combinations but it doesnt change that he's a counter puncher smh. You're right marquez and mayweather fight different in terms marquez will trade while mayweather will use his defensive skills but both are counter punchers. Maidana and Pacquiao fight different but ppl say if maidana can hit floyd alot, imagine what pac would do? Morales was beaten by Zahir Raheem before losing to pac .. Morales was a shell of himself when they fought and was 100% shot.

Cotto was a good win but this was also the same Cotto that was getting waxed by Zab, and needed to foul zab to keep from getting KOed.. Cotto's style has always been reckless and he was even more so after getting beat by Margarito. Cotto never really continued to develop after his should injury which is why Arum did not allow him to fight floyd at 140.

Clotty - did the man even show up to fight ? Also he was outboxed by cotto, and some time just spaces out during fights.

Rios good fighter, but really, he was a plodding fighter at 135 he was even more so at 147 and no where near, anywhere close to a A class fighter even less so at 147.

Margarito is a face first fighter, hardly what you would call a thinking man's fighter. Takes 5 blows to give one, and was sparked by Shane a year prior. Was this the same Margarito 3 years prior to his fight with pac ? NO! Not even close.
And the Broken orbital and year lay off did nothing to help in that fight .

Tim a very good fighter but lets be honest .. there is no one on his resume that prepares him against anyone on pac or Floyd's level not even close. Tim does does Not have enough tools in the tool belt.

Algiri ? should not have even been in the same ring at this stage of his career.

Counter punching is a very general term. I got news for you Manny is also a counter puncher. He uses a lot of feinting to get his opponent to throw and then unloads.

Manny has problems with Marquez counter punching style. He doesn't have problems with counter punches in general. Defensive back foot counter punchers don't bother Manny.

 

I never said pac is not a good counter puncher himself lol. But who was the better counter puncher between manny vs marquez? Answer Marquez. Who was the better puncher in Marquez? or Mayweather? Easy answer floyd. I got news for you, manny never fought a slick defensive fighter like mayweather before who is the master in counter punching.
