Imagine this. Pacquiao, dancing around Floyd for 12 rounds. He definitely has better footwork so he can dance circles around Floyd throughout the fight. Floyd would be forced to walk him down and Pac would just be jumping and darting, in/out, counterpunching, being elusive and super defensive. Floyd would be totally uncomfortable and the strategy would be so shocking that any strategy Floyd had planned would be out the window.

this is what i would do, a totally shocking strategy and a strategy that actually plays into Pacquiao's strengths cause he definitely has quicker feet. It also works cause it would take Floyd outside his comfort zone, making him be the aggressor, not the counterpuncher.

why not... forget the crowd boos, this would be a difficult fight for Floyd. How could he win if Pacquiao, the faster fighter, employs this strategy?

I think Pac has arguably the faster feet, but not the better footwork. He can try to dance around and be an elusive counterpuncher if he wants, but I don't think that would work out too well for him. His best bet is just to go out there, stay composed, and focus on doing he does best.

kind of but even more defensive.... Pac showed a bit of this style vs Brandon Rios. He came of that KO loss and was very cautious, moving non-stop and just looking to score, although he threw a lot of punches. Against Floyd, he would even be more defensive, something completely unexpected.

See, Floyd will be banking on Pacquiao being very aggressive and taking risks, risks he will be looking to exploit. I bet the Mayweather camp is devising a strategy to counter Pac's aggression. Floyd would be totally shocked and put in an uncomfortable position by being forced to chase an extremely elusive and cautious Pac for 12 rounds. It will be Floyd taking the risks and Pac using his superior footwork to outfox Floyd.

I know some think i'm just being facetious but i'm being serious, this would be received with loud BOOS but i see it as a strategy that would turn Flody's world upside down.

Psychologically, it would devastating for Floyd - beating him at his own game.

Not going to happen. Manny will push the fight to make it an exciting one. Afterall, this IS the biggest fight in a very long time.

pretty sure Pac could pull it off if he wanted to, and i'd love to watch it.

take the coward out of his comfort zone and beat him at his own game

but i doubt it'll happen, Pac cares for the fans too much to give them a snoozer, hes the polar opposite of Floyd, hes a true warrior

Correct Oscar was only 35. His legs weren't as far gone as Floyds.

forget about the fans... Pac doing a Floyd on Floyd, making Floyd look slow and countering him.. Pac is without a doubt the quicker fighter, especially with his footwork. He can run circles around Floyd without ever been caught. There would be BOOS for 12 rounds but a confused and humiliated floyd Mayweather, being beat at his own game.

people may think this is a joke but i see it working well, Pac would just never do it cause 'he cares about the fans'.

This is not a terrible idea...

Force Floyd to stalk him and change angles constantly. Floyd potshots him. Pacquiao replies with a hard combination.

The downside is it could end up being a letdown and Pacquiao probably doesn't want that after a 6yr buildup. Plus it would leave him wide open for the hometown decision.

It would be a good strategy to use every couple of rounds though, particularly if Pacquiao builds a lead. It would definitely force Floyd out of his comfort zone and force him to open up.

it's a smart strategy i think. It's about the element of surprise. Floyd is probably strategizing on how to deal with and extremely aggressive Pacquiao.

I actually don't like what i'm hearing from the Pac camp, that Pac will look to overwhelm Floyd, throw a lot of punches. This could work but what i don't like is that it's risky; Pacquiao will undoubtedly be taking risks and leaving himself open for counters.

Pac has to take advantage of his strengths - footwork. I believe they have similar hand speed but without a doubt, Pac has the quicker feet, he is more explosive with his footwork and can run circles on Floyd. Forcing Floyd to walk him down is to Pac's advantage - 1. make Floyd take the risks 2. force floyd to fight a style he's not comfortable with. He can use his in/out explosiveness to counter Floyd's pot shots. Pac would counter with combinations but move out quickly..

He can definitely, IMO, outscore Floyd and frustrate him.

I feel this is wise strategy, it really is. i don't love the idea of an extremely aggressive Pac.

Pacquiao tried that stategy against Marquez and got schooled.
Certainly wont work against the quicker, faster Mayweather.
