It's not like Floyd was getting ****d to do it. There's a difference between verbally forced and physically forced.

Which part do you think was stupid? If its the second part, then I agree. I kind of agree with the first part, except like I said before, Floyd wasn't forced into fighting Pac, he was most likely pressured but no one was blackmailing him or pointing a gun to his head, at the end of the day it was still FLoyds decision.

According to Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach, WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. eventually succumbed to the extreme pressure from the fans - who were demanding that he fight WBO champion Manny Pacquiao (who Roach trains) on May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Before the two fighters finally reached a deal in February, there were rumors of Mayweather potentially facing Miguel Cotto or Amir Khan. In the past, Mayweather selected opponents and at best there was minor backlash from the fans. Not this time. Thousands of fans took to the social networks and shot down any rumored opponent who wasn't named Pacquiao.

"He fought a couple of southpaws in his last [few] fights because I think he was knowing that he had to fight Manny Pacquiao, because I think he got embarrassed into taking this fight. The fans were finally getting on him....like he was at a basketball game and [the crowd was] chanting 'Manny, Manny, Manny,'" Roach explained.

"Then he went to Miami to see Manny at a basketball game. I thought that was one of the keys to make the fight happen. When they got together like that I said to myself 'it's getting closer, it's getting closer.' And when I saw them announce it on TV, I was the happiest person in the world. I love challenges. This is the biggest challenge of my life. I can't wait to win this fight."

 

Basically the fans got on Floyd MORE to fight Pac AFTER Pac was ktfo lol...

 

One day posters will be able to post in peace. That day is May 3rd lol...

 

Roach is just messing around with the mind games, and hoping to push the right buttons to put doubt in Floyds head.:hat :deal

 

Floyd was FORCED into this fight Plus they keep telling him Manny is shot to try to give him confidence. Floyd will need Bayless & the Vegas Mafia on this one. In a fair fight he'll get whupped

 

Not at all in fact quite the opposite Just look back over the last 5 years & see the never ending list of feeble excuses Floyd has given not to fight Manny. Not only Manny but Margarito, Williams etc too
The reason Floyd ducked them is simple. He wasn't convinced he could beat them even in the sanctuary of Vegas
When they fight, I hope for the first time ever in Vegas, Floyd's opponent gets a level playing field. This would decide who is the better man TODAY!! We'll never know about back in 2009
