You have many mistakes. Where to start. Try reading my criteria first.

Tyson was active in two groups. He is 3-4 vs the 1966-2003 list He beat TWO men ( Thomas and Bruno ) on the list. Could I add Tucker over Ruiz? Maybe. It would make the Tyson fanboys feel better.:hi:

Douglas win over Tyson is > Tucker's win over Douglas.

Tua only one win? I count a few. Moorrer, Ruiz, and Rhaman. Learn how to count.

Morrison beat Foreman, Ruddock, and ( Older ) Thomas

Easter European boxers were rare as pro's in the early 1990's. They started to turn professional in greater numbers in the mid to late 1990's and would not rate until their career's matured.

 

Moorer was made for Tua. Ruiz was clearly underprepared for Tua, not that this isn't a sub par victory, but it isn't any more than a solid win. Tua hit hard, but his loses are more telling. I'd go as far to say that he may not be fit for a place above Ruiz and that's without his wins in 04 over Golota and Oquendo. Not too suggest these along with his close decisions against SNV would help his cause that much, but Ruiz is probably greater than Tua.

 

W Klitschko should be in everyone's top 10. He is in my top 5.

I'm always reluctant to put him in as he's still active. I have him at 15, top 10? Go for it. If he beats Wilder I don't think top 5 would be that much of a stretch.

 

Wlad has not lost in nearly 11 years, and blew out the last man who beat him. With 21 wins in a row ( 18 of which were title matches ), you just have to give him his due.

Very few if any heavyweights were this successful in an 11 year stretch as champion.

Ring Magazine, which is still the gold standard of rankings has Wlad #2 in their pound for pound rankings. This could be a high mark for the heavyweight division.

I have him in my top ten. To move into the top 5 he will have to break Joe Louis record for the most successful title defenses. Amazingly enough he's still in his prime at age 39.

 

Maybe he'd be more appreciated if his nutty fans didn't insist he is one of the top 5 greatest fighters in HW that ever lived and who beats every HW great that ever lived.
You never picked another boxer to beat Wlad in any h2h fantasy match-up despite Wlad proving he can't box against Povetkin and losing to a nobody like Brewster in less than 6 rounds in his absolute prime.

Very few HWs fought in a garbage era like this one and had a brother help them along the way. And he still lost! To bums. Like Williamson.

You want to tell me who he fought and the performance he gave that puts him in the top 5 of all time? Paper stats are meangingless. Show me the greatness. I want to witness it on film?

 

Why do I bother? Wlad did not lose to Williamson. And his brother did not throw a single punch in any of his fights.

I've been here for a while Dino. You are not among the top 10 Wlad haters. Two reasons why. 1) you don't know what you are talking about 2 ) What a fan thinks should not influence your thinking.

 

The best win/wins is/are very important in the pro-boxing.
In my opinion the most important factors for an outstanding win
are the followings:- undisputed fight
- the victim is unbeaten
-the victim is younger than 35 years old
- the victim wasn't down before the fight
-the victim is reigning champion or he was world
(undisputed and or WBA and/or WBC and/or IBF) champion.
- the victim is in prime or he is nearly in prime
I think the best 4 wins ever by this system.

It's interesting when some boxing fans (who can't accept the objective factors)
say Tyson hasn't good win.This list proves Tyson has outstanding wins.
My system is great because this doesn't prefer the cherry-picking, the old
fighter beating,the bum-beating,the business oriented lots of champion
around the world mania, the glass-chinned fighter beating,the boxing freakshow etc.

Wladimir Klitschko hasn't similar outstanding win obviously
he isn't a top 5 fighter.

 

I consistently see Liston above W. Klitschko, but why?

 

It's a great question because logically it's very hard to prove that Liston should be ranked ahead of Wlad. Many people see Liston as a head to head nightmare for most heavyweights and I presume this is the reason for his ranking. Based on accomplishment Wlad dwarfs him and I also believe Wlad would defeat Liston h2h IMO.

What does staying on top of this era say about how he would fare in other , better era's? Who did he beat and what is the performance I should be looking at?

Mayweather is p4p a million miles ahead of Wlad skill wise. He is better than Wlad in every way possible.
Dominance, longevity, skills and level of opposition all shatters what Wlad has done.

Does his 17 year unbeaten streak automatically mean he beats all the former greats from past era's?

I don't know many people who pick Floyd to beat Duran , Hearns, Robinson, Leonard , Armstrong ?
17 years of dominance or not , i would not pick Floyd to beat Basilo or Chavez Sr.

Performance against top competitors counts more than stats you can look up on paper. Wlad never looked like no ATG in the ring to me. Thats what matters most and he doesn't have it.
