Bruno folded a few times too, despite what Brits try to perpetuate about him.

I think Damiani would out box Bruno for a few rounds, but no matter how many times I picture this fight in my head I see still Bruno smashing Damiani to the canvas around the 5th or 6th round with his stiff jab and a follow up hook or right hand. Bruno gets the knockout.

Damiani was fluid and Bruno stiff but Bruno could wallop. Another fight that could go either way, a decision loss for Frank B or a KO loss for Francesco D. I think it depends on when they fight ....early Bruno losses, more mature Bruno does it.

Smith was nothing special. No better than McCall or Mercer.

Close match up. Bruno's best chance is to win early as his stamina was not the best late. If a boxing match breaks out Damiani takes it on points.

I'd slightly favor Damiani here. By the way Damiani blew a chance to face Holyfield for the title. Anyone have details as to why he passed, and Bert Cooper stepped in?

I don't have anything on paper, but I seem to remember that he pulled out due to an injury.

I read he didn't want to take a shot, and was scared of needles.

What was the injury? It is odd for a prize fighter who is not highly ranked to turn down his biggest pay day and chance for glory.

Bruno getting underrated here, he should boss this with his ramrod jab and much heavier blows

Yes fair enough,I tend to agree, although to be fair Bruno was well ahead before blowing up in the last round.

I don't recall what it was. It was a brief news blurt that was on tv that I heard back in 1991, and while it might not have been the truth, it may have been the excuse that they used at the time.

I think the injury was a problem with the Achilles tendon.... wish I coud have seen Francisco fight Holyfield.... would have been a good fight for about 8 rounds or so...but think that Holyfield would have pulled away or possible tko Damiani
