yeah, because as you surely know i've been a real big supporter of the greatness of old Hopkins these past years.

If we could warp his fifty year old self back to the 80s and have him fight someone who's name sounds like something from a takeaway menu i'd put them right into an all-time top ten.

FTR I think people will appreciate Stevenson's win over Fonfra after he fights Chavez Jr. I think he'll give him a good fight at the very least. Fonfra did start off as a welterweight for those who didn't know. Kinda reminds me of A mini Chris Byrd ... Except he doesn't remind me of a mini Chris Byrd at all.

Bokaj, You do not deserve a response because you are a phony yourself. If a PP in so many recent posts including the recent one on this thread when he again used the derogatory name "whitey"
about a Caucasian fighter which he has done too freakin often
whilst passive posters of today LIKE YOURSELF sit idly about
while this racist garbage spouts from his mouth. Who the hell are you you punk to "give me the benefit of a doubt", when I chastise PP for his racism belching "whitey" repeatedly for no reason...??? When did I ever compare a Martin Luther King with a Stalin ??? Before you were born you flame thrower I was a devotee of his, and still regard him as a hero of mine...As for Obama if the American press hadn't protected him he would universally be regarded as the worst president we have ever had in my lifetime....So you cad take your made up lies about me and
shove it where the sun don't shine...I might not be young anymore but I will not back down from miscreants like you who lie. Give your pal Obama who traded 5 Taliban murderers for one American deserter my regards .You deserve each other. Otherwise have a good day...

Well done burt, many racist blacks on this site. And people uproar if you say anything back. Most of the people have no backbone, let the racism slide. Any derogatory names towards me will be dealt with harshly.

Agreed. His power is probably Moon-esque though.

I think he's a crisper, sharper puncher than Moon, Flea.Maybe not quite as hard per single shot though, Moon seemed to affect fighters even with glancing punches.

Probably best not to talk about midgets from 25 years ago though.I'll be revealing that deep rooted bias and agenda soon enough:yep

btw i've got nothing against current fighters GoYourOwnWay, and actually love the soviet school of boxing but i do think the past 15 or so years has been a relatively poor period for boxing as it declines and becomes a niche sport with less competition.doesn't mean i won't give credit where it's due, i don't play the agenda game.Waste of time.

Doubtful. Chavez Jr just made Vera look like a genuine contender. Fonfara will do well but likely lose a decision just like Vera. Fonfara will have to knock Chavez Jr out to win and that isn't happening.

Yes he does. If Stevenson wouldn't face Kov or Hopkins, he should have at the very least fought Pascal in a Canadian Super Fight.

Stevenson had a strong 2013, no doubt, but we can't keep milking that.

In the last 15 months he has only fought twice. Fonfara and Dimtri, and soon to be Bika. Going back a little, we can include Bellew and it still looks poor compared to Kov's run.

And Pascal in back to back fights, effectively cleaning out the remaining top contenders, while Stevenson's activity and opponent quality has dropped off.

Than that's more than a name.

I like your bias on the lower weights as I seldom focus on them. What's your take on straw weight Kosei Tanaka?

As for modern boxing its on the arch upwards and starting to win back fans who left for the MMA, thanks to Kovalev, GGG, and others.

Pac vs Mayweather will be our super bowl, if if you prefer World Cup.

K, thank you for being the only one who has the cujones and integrity to support me when I defended myself from vicious and ignorant lies from Bokaj when he accused me from comparing Martin Luther King with a Stalin...MLK was a contemporary of mine who I greatly admired for his rightiousness and courage in a noble cause. And to be attacked by this miscreant Bokaj liar
deserves this response. It has been said that for evil to triumph good men have to do nothing to stop it, so true...Bokaj was defending a poster who many times has used the term "WHITEY" to demean brave white fighters of the past and today
who tried to make a living entering the ring to entertain us..
I, watching boxing for over 60 years couldn't believe my eyes
reading PP's racist attacks time and again without one response from sleeping posters or moderators. NOT ONE. So I interjected
and aside from you and I believe a poster named Mendoza, not
one response was forthcoming from posters or moderators...
Can you imagine if a misguided poster belched out the word BLACKIE to demean brave black fighters who I idolized, this silent response would have occurred ? HELL NO. So K, I too am a fan of Kovalev, who pardon the expression is unworthy of
being good because according to some poster happens to be
a WHITEY. What has happened to this boxing forum and society in general K. ??? Thanks again...

I'm not sure it's fair to judge Chavez on his first fight against
Vera. 1 year out the ring, lost his 0 on his previous fight and was probably smoking "marijuana cigarettes" or "reefas" if you prefer, before his training camp started

I'd rather judge Chavez Jr, who I'm not that keen on btw, on the 11 round ass whooping he took from Martinez. Still, he's a formidable opponent for any fighters that aren't on an elite level and Vera himself, while no world beater, is better than his record suggests. You're in for a long night if it's an off one
