jsut watched youtube of usyk

been hearing about this usyk dude on this forum....so, decided to check out a fight of his on youtube...the opponent was some dude named bruwer....never heard of him. anyway, if this usyk dude is supposed to be the best of the ee fighters coming up, it's good news for people who hate ee fighters...usyk is c r a p...the kinda slow, clumsy guy evander holyfield would have used for batting practice...as the bat.

in fact, not impressed by any of the upcoming ee fighters. khytrov or whatever his name is looked like schit in his last fight on boxcino...beterbiev looked like schit getting dropped by some unknown fighter...glazkov got a gift, the second of his overhyped careere. against ole-ass cunningham.

once ggg goes down from a cotto left hook and adonis puts slow-ass kovalev on the canvas and lomachenko faces his next top-level opponent, the ee/russian fad will be over...i for one won't be sad to see the ee's anti-climatic fade out of contention ... can't wait for the chinese to make their run though...that'll add a nice kink to boxing.

 

breakdown cotto-ggg and steveson-kovalev....why do you favor ggg and kov?

i saw ggg having problems with martin murray..that is, murray able to land cleanly with combinations over and over through ggg's defense. but because murray is predictable with his offense and not a puncher, ggg was able to walk right through his shots and punish him. cotto can box and he can hit. cotto throws those power combos from different angles then gets on his toes...i don't see him standing in trading shots with ggg a whole lot. cotto is def not one of my favs, but i think he has certain abilities that will capitalize on ggg's flaws.

as for stevenson-kovalev, if you're basing your pick of kovalev offa the pascal and hopkins fight, i don't see the comparison...but i'll wait for your ****ysis.

 

no, i think you're right...loma and ggg are like the elite of the elite of the russian/ee amateur boxing program. the other guys coming up don't appear to have that pedigree...i haven't done any research on their amateur background....i'm just basing it on what i see them doing in the ring. we may have seen the pinnacle of russian/ee talent with those two guys ...what remains is the less than pinnacle which, as it turns out, is pretty mediocre.

 

usyk still fights like an amateur...his mannerisms, his style of punching is very amaterur-like. the only thing going for him is he's a southpaw.
