Even if I agree with OP about the fact that privilege based on race is a concept that shouldn't be dismissed outright, and even if I think there might be merit to the idea that racism could be considered a more institutionalized form of discrimination (thereby making it more difficult for visible minorities in Europe and North America to engage in at present)l the fact is that it's still possible for the OP to be bigoted or to display prejudice if he continues to slag upon Eastern European fighters without providing proper rationale for doing so.

Based on the way CM has slagged on Usyk, I'd say that's probably the case...Because based on the manner in which Usyk has handled the opponents he's faced, he looks very much to be the truth right now.

 

I take more umbrage with the idea that every individual American citizen of Caucasian descent is "guilty by pigmentation" just by virtue of collectively belonging under the umbrella of a particular arbitrarily defined ethnic rubric (regardless of whether or not they have any past relations directly complicit in slavery, Jim Crow laws, discriminatory hiring practices, or indeed anything of that nature) that by no means delineates privilege in and of itself.

To say that white families living well below the poverty line, "Po' white trash", as it were, are equally as guilty of perpetrating institutionalized oppression based on prejudice or antiquated ideas of racial hegemony, as the fat cat wealthy elite who actually do enjoy & exploit (and benefit from, on the self-perpetuating basis of not race, but class) privilege is absolutely ridiculous.


I don't have to apologize to anyone for being white, or male, or anything else. I've lived hand-to-mouth and paycheck-to-paycheck my entire life.

If anything, not being a female or a minority has inhibited certain opportunities (scholarships, affirmative-action quotas for positions going to candidates less qualified, etc) but I don't go seeking to bitterly attribute blame. I do my best as the self-reliant individual that I am (that each of us is) and don't worry about my starting place in the rat-race as it relates to anybody else, because that's none of my business (as mine is none of theirs). I don't identify with any sort of notions of collective tribalism. I'm not proud of being white nor do I feel guilty about it. Certainly in no way has it ever proven an exploitable advantage, so I do kind of resent being told I have to apologize for my supposed "position of privilege" and 'give back' when I've never gotten anything in the first place. (nor would I want to, by such means, but the fact is the opportunity has never even presented itself)
