I think Groves is just working the cobra venom out of his system, I still got faith in him

Groves was not rated as anything amazing going in to the first Froch fight anyway. Even Froch said he wasn't true world class. Most people on this forum agreed with that.

The truth is, Froch made him look good.
But then some people say Froch is an ATG !

This Cobra'd stuff is ridiculous. Ok he took one hard shot in the 2nd fight and was laid out. It's happened to many fighters. Look at the pacman after being "Marquez'd" if u will. For ****s sake people need to grow a brain.

Groves hasnt brought his a game cause he's not fighting a class opponents. Perhaps his coaching and team is letting him down. Still doesn't mean he's shot or "Cobra'd" ..fekking ridiculous

He's always been slightly overrated, his two best performances was Degale and Froch 1. In my mind he was lucky to get the win in the Degale fight, only reason he got that win was because of the public perception of Degale at the time. In Froch 1 he was fighting an unmotivated fighter and still lost, Anthony Dirrel knocks Groves out.

Maybe 'shot' is too strong a term but his reflexes and general in-ring demeanour do seem slightly dulled since the Froch fights. Whether or not he just needs a big fight to get the juices flowing again remains to be seen but I feel there is more to it than that.

Froch said his jab was falling short now - due to being overly tentative - and there wasn't as much behind the right hand. I agree with that.

Both Froch fights were extremely damaging. The first fight in an offensive sense(Froch taking his much vaunted power) and the second in a defensive sense(made critical mistake).

So the two main areas of his boxing make-up have taken a major hit. It's obvious he won't the same belief collectively that he had before. At the top level, that makes all the difference.

I still dont think groves was nearly as sharp in the 2nd froch fight. As many improvements as froch made and its easy to put it solely down to that. But to me Groves of the second fight didnt look nearly as sharp regardless imo. And yet he spent a good part of the first fight training himself since paddy came onboard performances seem to be going down. Maybe just needing time to settle in.

He spent too much time promoting the second fight. As Sir Jim would say, "his mind wasn't on the jawwwwb".

Ha ha perfect quote. Thats been 3 performances now tho that havent been up to the first froch fight imo or some of his fights against lower level. Even if it was against lower level groves himself has always looked sharp. Seems to have lost it a bit. In hindsight groves totally went about the jawwwwb the wrong way of that second fight and too frochs credit he done everything right. I still to this day think groves threw the second fight away.

Froch caught him with the best shot his ever thrown or ever likely to throw !!! Think after the first fight froch was more weary and boxing to a better plan !!! Still think groves will be world champion
