He was my favorite out of the bunch since he was really the only one of them to sit down on his punches and crack some asses lol.

You can really track his development. The great thing about Golovkin having been a star amateur is that pretty much all of his pro career has been captured on video for posterity, so you can go back and trace his progress fight to fight.

Such a treat, especially considering that he already hit the ground running when he turned over with a style that most considered "pro-ready" by his amateur peak - so from his debut on it has just been constant improvement after improvement.

Here is the problem with your logic. If Golovkin is the "boxer", as you claim, then fighting off of the back foot shouldn't be a problem for him. What does Golovkin do when he meets an opponent who isn't fazed by his power and has enough pop on his punches to put Golovkin down? So far, Golovkin has only shown one dimension to his game. Sure, he looks like a beast when coming forward against feather fisted and overmatched opponents. I just wonder what happens when he meets an opponent who isn't feather fisted and isn't overmatched...

Hopkins' MW division was far more dangerous than this **** we're seeing now.

 

Defense is one of the criteria on which professional boxing is judged. So yes, boxing is the science of hitting your opponent *and* not getting hit in return. ALL of the top ATGs had very good to exceptional defense...
