It appears to me that way. Briggs has been chasing Wlad for a long time and at one point Wlad's trainer said Briggs is a possibility. After his last fight yesterday Briggs again said he will be facing Wlad in the post-fight interview and he seemed very confident about it, not like a troll desperately calling out a champ as he usually looks.

Obviously a Wlad - Briggs fight is a complete joke but it serves Wlad in a way that he can make money in Germany fighting Briggs and then retire as a victorious champ while not taking any risks against big 'n powerful guys like Wilder or Fury. And in early 2016 Wilder and Fury fights in a mega fight for the vacated titles to decide who will dominate the post Wlad era.

I'd think that's what Wilder and Fury wants as well, not to be a victim of Wlad in his last pro year(s) and lose all spot lights with a loss but instead dominate the post-Wlad era where there are few prospects in sight who can challenge them.

Do you think this is how it's going to turn out?

Wlad should fight Fury and Wilder.

If he beats them, I'd call him a top 5 HW.

Briggs hasn't done anything to deserve a shot at the title. I see Wlad defeating Jennings, unifying all four belts after beating Wilder and making one last successful defense against Fury. Wlad's greatest opponent now is Father Time as he just turned 39.

Don't think so. I guess he tries to get Windmiller and if that falls trough (probably) he will try to fight Fury.

I believe Wlad should fight Wilder and Fury for his legacy. He will be considered one of the ATGs. But if he goes out like this, you know, fighting Briggs and retire, he will be forgotten soon enough.

I mean look at Rid**** Bowe's career, it's statistically great, but very few remember him or name him in the ATG lists.

If he can beat the best of the new school why retire stick around a few more years

But I think Wlad's career is a lot better then bowe's

Reigned much longer and more consistently

Certainly feasible but a far more likely scenario is Wlad having made defense #20 and becoming undisputed HW champion by 2016. Fury/Wilder will be called 'bums' by Wald's legion of haters after dominating both. I reckon Wlad will retire after defense #26 in 2018 if I was a wagering bloke.

Briggs will still be chasing Wlad though..probably with the assistance of a walker by this time :yep

I seriously doubt he will fight until 2018 or 2017 for that matter. My best guess'd be he'd retire later this year, or in 2016 at most.

Agreed. Wouldn't shock me at all if he fights Wilder soon. But i'll wager he definitely is dead set on collecting all the belts before he walks away. It may take quite awhile to get Wilder or the WBC titlist in the ring too for that matter. If I was making a bet, I'd favor him retiring in 2018 over either Fury/Wilder beating him...that's for sure lol

I have to admit though, he can't beat father time forever so you never know. However, I think his technique, style, power and dedication will hold up for a few more years. If he shows signs of slippage against Jennings, I'd certainly reconsider. But as of know, I think he retires champion.

However, the Fury and Wilder fights are definitely the most intriguing no doubt and would love to see both.
