No, Oscar was the tougher fight and the far more lucrative fight. Only in retrospect does anybody claim that Margarito was such a big threat, and that's only because Mayweather didn't end up fighting him. Had he fought him, these same people would be claiming that he ducked someone else and took the easier road with Margarito. Knowledgeable boxing fans know how that fight would have panned out. Margarito would have followed him around for 12 rounds while getting potshotted in the face and losing every minute of every round, and he'd be referred to as a bum afterwards just like Baldomir.
Hernandez, Cotto and an undefeated Hatton (just to name a few) are better wins than the latter two, so no, those are not his best wins.
Floyds win against Corrales is a bit inflated he was on his way to prison and he was a emotional wreck he had no business in the ring in his state of mind. When Chico got out destroying everyone Floyd moved up faster than a GTR... Chico even destroyed Castillo so bad he had to cheat and damn near come in at middleweight to beat him in a rematch the same dude that had Floyd crying "My Hands" Chico also got out and fought Freites and Casamayour Floyd ducked them to....
Youve said that Floyd isnt an ATG.... im ready to believe you and so many other boxing fans are... but you have to convince us with genuine facts. The onus is on you to back up your statement.
hatton wasn't a good welterweight. cotto was not fighting anyone relevant prior to that fight (mayorga, margarito, foreman). corrales was a more dangerous fight than genaro. genaro was seen as someone who would get destroyed by mayweather at the time.
Yes. A 6-8 past prime fighter takes 4-5 rounds off prime Floyd, that's an amazing accomplishment. and lets not forget Oscar was actually ahead after 7 rounds and wasn't until he gassed and stopped jabbing that floyd was able to take the fight over and pull out a win. Floyd fans ( i can't believe we can't say fl o mos anymore) like to say the fight wasn't close when in reality it was very competitive until the last 3-4 rounds, based on oscar slowing down. And how anyone can say it would be the same fight if Oscar was prime!? OMG, no. He would have put a hurting on floyd. He was so much faster and explosive during his prime it leaves no doubt he would do miles better against that same version of Floyd. And great chance he could have KO'd Floyd.
nobody has to provide facts because you haven't done so yourself. i said he was possibly in the top 100 which is how big most scholars lists are. never said he wasn't an all time great, you can't read congratulations.
atsch:rofl You havent a clue. I made it easier for you by asking for 50 fighters and not 100 that are better than Floyd. I will make this even easier and request 30. If you look at every scholars list youll find floyd is in there, but why piggy back off them. A scholar such as yourself should know the answers right? :hi:
you asked me a question and i asked you one back. you think because you ask someone a question that they need to answer you ? you didn't answer me. so you look at scholars list yet say i'm piggybacking off them because i referred to them, yet you look at them yourself and even stated mayweather was in every single one. you're incapable of logical thought so basically i'm just talking to a farm animal.
:deal. People forget Cotto thoroughly outboxed Margarito for 6-7 rounds in their first fight, until the cement started taking effect.
