Only in the mind of a blind Pac fan did he destroy Cotto. You guys are hilarious.

Look at his face and busted ear drum. Yea, he totally destroyed the guy. :rofl:nut

just because you destroy a fighter in a fight does that mean he can not come back and win titles?

Marquez did more than destroy Pac he nearly killed him and he has comeback so whats you're point?

A prime Mayweather got beaten by (and he was beaten in spite of the scores) Jose Luis Castillo and Manny is far better and quicker than Castillo Floyd would have had a ton of problems with Manny's speed even then. Manny has always been an intelligent fighter and most tend to not give him credit for his boxing acumen, sure he was sloppy at times back in 2005 against Morales (which was a very close fight) but after that he's been pretty hard to beat. And yes you're right Manny has improved certain aspects of his game since the Marquez loss, but you're not giving Manny near enough credit for his pre loss skills.

Floyd has looked extremely beatable in a few fights; I don't know where this talk of him being too much for Pac in 2009 came from. The style of the Marquez fight made that one so easy to predict - it played out exactly as I thought it would (Marquez doesn't look great pressing the action). He looked pretty bad against Oscar, Cotto, Madaina, Castillo I, and really mediocre in the Mitchell fight right after Gatti. He looked great against Canelo, Gatti, marquez, Corales, G. Hernandez, Mosley (with an asterisk) and guys like Corley and Bruseles, while looking too mobile for plodders like Baldomir. His actual reputation exceeds what he does in the ring, I think. Pacquiao in the string of fights from Oscar to Margarito looked far more impressive than Floyd looked during that period. What would you do to deter that version of Pacquiao?

Hopefully Roach will let Pacquiao fight in the fashion that got him those wins with just a little bit of intelligence on top.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. The past doesn't matter regardless. What matters now is who will win in less than 5 weeks, and that is a question I do not have answer to.

I don't think Floyd was ever faster... with hands or feet.

How many fighters have come out of the ring in awe of Pac's speed? a ton; not many have come out in awe of Floyd's speed. I do agree with you that Floyd was smarter, he took much less risks and made few mistakes. Don't forget though, DLH almost beat him and his win over Castillo was a bit controversial. DLH seems to handle Floyd's speed much better than Pac's speed, he couldn't see Pac's punches.

Probably because Mayweather doesn't throw as many combinations and punches as Pacquiao. Can you imagine if the Mayweather of Gatti showed up? The Mayweather who actually threw combinations? That would be such a great fight.

Oh, and DLH was beat fair and square. It's like when people say Maidana or Canelo almost beat Floyd because a judge scored them the win or draw...but, we all know...they did not win.

i thought Floyd won that fight vs DLH but come on, that wasn't like the Canelo or Madiana fights, DLH was close.

DLH couldn't see Pac's punches, it was a joke...

Floyd was fast but Manny is just super fast, i just don't see Floyd being faster, ever. Too many opponents have come out of the ring shocked by manny's speed, totally stunned.

Like I said, it was because Floyd throws single punches and Manny throws like 6 at a time. If Mayweather was as busy and threw as many combinations as Pacquiao, opponents would come out shocked as well.

maybe he can't do it as consistently. I believe there are two types of speed - single punch speed and combinations. When you see Pacquiao unleashing combos on heavy bag, it looks like something out of a video game. Floyd looks much slower. I think throwing a punch in one direction is much different than throwing, taking your arms back and throwing again... some may have the instinct and ability to throw fast punches but not throw as fast flurries.

on Roach being mad btw, i'm always amazed by how little Roach says in the corner during fights and how Manny seems to completely ignore him. It's as if he's listening to the other trainer and not Roach, maybe the other is translating?
