Why is Anthony Joshua rated so highly ? He's been knocked down and beaten by Dillian Whyte and stopped by Mihai Nistor he lost about 8/10% of his amateur fights and got a hometown Olympic Gold decision.

AJs fought no one as a pro for me Dillian Whyte who's unbeaten as an amateur and pro is a big step up and will stop Joshua by KO.

Whyte isn't that great... Sure he beat Joshua in the amateurs(VERY EARLY on) but that was then, and this is now. Joshua is more improved of the two, and I think he takes it easily. Early KO for Joshua. I'm not a believer in the Whyte hype, I just don't see it. I don't think he's even a future contender.

You negate yourself with your own argument here. Who has Whyte fought as a pro? Even Sprott and Skelton are a step up from Whyte's previous fights (not to say he also wouldn't destroy them, I'm just talking about levels of opposition).

Johnson will be a much better test to see how well AJ's power etc has developed. Whilst he is unlikely to win, he has lasted the distance against the likes of Vitali so if nothing else it can be used as a measuring stick of sorts

Why doesn't Hearn sign Whyte and build it up? He won't command huge purses and it'll be dead easy sell with the casuals, it'd fill the o2.

My point is that Whyte already has the confidence of knowing that he has already knocked down and beaten Joshua and with headguards and bigger gloves on.

He seems to be very confident about fighting Joshua and this video explains their history

Which is a fair point, however I don't see that Whyte has progressed much beyond that level whereas Joshua has. That ban is probably to blame

Also on the promotional side of things...I believe Whyte is independent at the moment, but do correct me if that's wrong.

Yeah, just watched that video that Outside posted, he says he's going to sing with a promoter over the summer.

Joshua by KO early to mid rounds. The only things I have been impressed with by Whyte are his jab and his power. His power is good, wouldn't go mad about it but he can hit. He is very rangy and can keep people away with that but he doesn't set shots up from his jab like he should. AJ looks incredible so far, yes neither of them have fought anyone really but Bakhtov beats anyone on Whytes resume.

Don't take anything from their amateur fight, they were both starting out and that means nothing and you say Whyte takes confidence from that? That is the worst thing he can do as he is giving himself a false sense of security, and if he is expecting the same Anthony Joshua then he is going to be in a world of trouble.
