Absolutely no hint of a defence any time soon...he's had that belt for nearly TWO years now without defending it.

Fair point- Price did a similar thing a few years ago, as Fury will likely do for the rest of the year.

I think there should be a rule where if you challenge for World honours or are highly ranked by all the bodies you should forced to vacate to give others a chance. No chance of that happening anytime soon however.

Joking arnt yer. The only challenge hes got is Rocky and after getting beat twice by Abraham, hes too good to defend it against him?

If you hear and believe what he says, the BBBofC wont accept any fighters to challenge for the belt. Keep rejecting anyone that he and his team suggest and have now finally decided that Rocky is a worthy challenge. I believe what Smith says, you mat not, but I think he has gone about the Rocky Fielding scenario the wrong way but you can see why he wants to fight at world level again after being very competitive in the first fight and in my opinion nicking it, and he didn't embarrass himself in the second either, won 4 or 5 rounds on my card, been a while so cant remember but I believe two of the judges had him winning 4 too.

I was expecting him to relinquish the belt in order to let Callum Smith fight Rocky or someone similar.

It's a disgrace, if truth be told. He has a ready-made domestic showdown with Rocky Fielding for the British waiting for him and he's still no nearer to making a decision. Seems to think he's now "operating at World level" because he decisively lost two fights against a faded Abraham.

The thing is though , it's nothing to do with smith not being able to find a legitimate opponent to defend against - he was signed to fight Luke Blackledge about 18 months ago , the presser done , tickets sold. Everything. And he pulled out, and ended up fighting Jamie Ambler in a 8 rounder.

    Un acceptable!

He's played a sneaky game by holding it ransom & for what it's worth yes he should be stripped as he's above domestic level (as proved with Abraham 1/2) he won't fight fielding & he won't relinquish - should be stripped

Fury will be stripped by the end of the month - he's holding up the title which AJ will fight for soon enough, the board will keep certain people sweet & fury is not one of them.

Yes he should relinquish the title if he doesn't intend to fight for it, I totally agree.

Dont forget b4 smith fought abriaham fielding was made mandatory then failed massively to make weight then got stripped of his position. So this fight could have been made along time ago but fielding always avoided the question not smith. Only since smith lost to aa fielding has started asking for the fight. It sud happen hope it does

There's a big chance you'll be getting rejected when you put names like Tobais Webb forward.

Who else was their to fight as a voluntary. Fielding didn't want it. Webb was the best available fighter.

Exactly, to be fair there aren't too many better at domestic level than Webb. There have been many worse fighters challenge for the British title.
