Great article in the NY Times today about Serafim Todorov and his life then and today. I know I cant post the link, but it is easy enough to find.

Wow the author is really "reaching" .... "The loser is now worth $280 million"....

The reality is, he was a grown man (27), Floyd was a teenager (19), he really lost the fight as its been noted of the robbery, and furthermore, the amateur scoring system is flawed, as its merely based on a computer point system (well at least it was then).

The article read as if he beat the brakes off of Floyd and stopped him.:patsch The hate is real

Floyd Mayweather TBE, deal with it!

Good read, sad story, how in a few cases just one conversation or just signing that deal would've changed that dudes life.

well, there's still the whole pro ranks to go through, which might have been disastrous or ended in brain damaged journeyman status. Though as a medalist clearly his starting pay would have been leaps and bounds better than a guy starting at local clubs with no Olympic experience.

True, but it sounds like boxing pretty much ended soon after that, unsure how much of that was due to his choics, or lack of opportunity. He doesn't sound like the most resourceful guy, but I'm thinkin yeah, just being in the system and having a place to start girl a guy like him, would've been the break he needed to do better than where he is now, squandered with less than 450 a month for him and his family to live on.

I agree though, no telling if he would've squandered early, been a journeyman, or had the longevity to flourish. Not an easy path, but much better than the cards he played, and where he endd up, I would think.

He did have a short pro career and was 5-1 I believe. He probably did not make his best effort to have a sucesful pro career. maybe he could have with better resources, or maybe he wasn't meant for the pros. At the end of the day, Floyd got to where his is through hard work, dedication, and not seeing an alternative. Sure, he had a lot of support in the sport from his early days to today, but he is the one who has to go out and perform

Yes, and Todorov beat Mayweather "officially".

My point is that Aragón has a much better case for being the last man to have deserved to beat Mayweather.
