Note that his is a bump up in price from the normal; $64.99 for standard and $74.95 for high definition.

With the price being bumped up approximately $25 for the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight, the question is whether the price will be going up permanently for PPV fights? With the money being so good for HBO, Showtime, the fighters and the cable distributors, is it possible that they could keep the prices at this inflated rate?

they won't sell any other fights for this price. i question whether this was the right move as I think it will hurt sales.

a casual fan will drop $70 on this fight. $99? Not sure it sounds a lot worse than $70.

    Bad

Absolutly no reason why it should be priced so high apart from greed and the need to earn back losses (Floyd showtime deal)

    Floyd Maidana 2 - overpriced
    Floyd Guerrero - overpriced
    Pac Algieri - overpriced
    Pac Rios - overpriced

Canelo Floyd with Matthysse Garcia was reasonable.

100 bucks. You have to watch it in HD.

To pay 100 sheets to watch a fight is an absolute disgrace.

Most will watch it with others and all chip in , but what about married men and whatnot who will have to shell out the full 100?
    Out of order.

Less than four weeks to go and I sill don't even hear a buzz about this fight in my area. I see they still expect 3 mil in sales for this fight on the news so I'm guessing New York, California, and Texas will be buying this big time in order for that to pan out.

i think they are getting this wrong. I will undoubtedly pay for it but they had me thinking. If this price got me thinking, many will decide not to watch it and be turned off by price. I know they have experts working out the ideal price but to me, $70 a head would be more profitable. Many boxing fans will just say f it

There should not be PPV in the first place. Subscriptions to the premium channels is enough....not to mention the cable companies putting commercials on our paid subscription is robbery. But that's another topic altogether.
