due to the size of the occasion you'd have to say groves II, think if you asked froch he'll tell you the same thing
Taylor in America, fact he was slightly behind needing a knockout and he done it against a guy who had beat Hopkins twice in his first world title defense. Without winning his first title defense would he had the great career he has, would he have got in the super 6? Doubt it. That win gave him a great foundation for a great career.
This question highlights the way Froch has become so over-rated. The Groves rematch or Bute for me. Froch was expected to bang George out in 4 or 5 rounds in the original fight, instead he took an absolute hammering and was beaten in every aspect of the sport until a weird stoppage got him the win. Bute came over unbeaten thanks to a friendly ref in Canada preventing him being stopped years earlier. Froch is a very good fighter with massive limitations who has become ridiculously over-hyped by the Sky Sports' PR machine. Guys like Jones, Calzaghe, Hopkins, Toney and McCallum would've had a field day with him. Toney woul have probably chinned the oaf of a brother at the weigh-in too.
Hate to admit it but this does have some truth to it. When people talk about his great win over Taylor , its needs to be made clear that Taylor is now back at middle , was never a natural 168 fighter , yet he dropped and outboxed Carl hard.
Bute is his most spectacular, Groves II for the occasion, Taylor was the most *****y but in terms of pure impressiveness, I would have to go for AA.
His best win was to convince the casuals he is some sort of boxing great despite a questionable career (see my thread exposing him)
Even though Taylor is a natural middleweight, one has to remember that prior to the Froch fight he only lost twice to Pavlik. So if anything i feel like it is a underrated w for Froch. Bute, Pascal, Kessler 2, AA & Groves II. I'm a Froch fan, but i still was sure that Froch would've stopped him in the rematch. I don't care what anyone says, Bute was hyped up by some to be even better than Ward. He was in many experts P4P 9-10# And Froch just annihilated him.
