Hey burt, what's your take on this Russian monster? I saw what he did to Campillo....did he not embalm this poor fellow?..AB reminds me of a horror movie monster. There's this calm air of inevitability about him, like a space alien kinda. This is what, his 8th pro bout???? hell, the right hand was enough...Campillo was finished for the night from that alone, then the left...it was almost like an after thought...a coup de grace. Is this guy is scary or what? I assume that his management is in no hurry in moving him along, but he says he's ready for a title shot. Your take on him pls!!!
AB was impressive. He needs to work on defense a bit and find more creativity, but his attack dog style combined with equal or better power in comparison to Kovalev is very impressive. To think the was only his eight professional fight. The light heavyweight division is exploding with talent.
he looks like a cross between Dempsey and Marciano with a touch of Duran, he is already 30 but an accomplished amateur and talented fighter. He should not rush in to fight Kovalev because Kov has become a professional. Hard to say how he will develop, the talent is there but as we know the way a fighter is seasoned is important and he gets hit. I love his style but much can be added with the right corner
Kovalev beat a better version in more dominating fashion. This Campillo was gonna get KOd if Beterbiev only threw 2-3 punches per rd. Hell, even Giraffe Neck(*IB) was able to stop him.atsch
rc, I just turned on my tv set when it seems I was confronted with an alien being. Never seeing Beterbiev before, I cannot remember seeing as imposing a physique on a fighter before. Why his muscles has muscles ! He can hit with great power and accuracy for sure. I would certainly think he destroys "Superman" Stevenson who is the only one armed champion I have ever seen. This Bieterbiev would have destroyed the old but game Bika in a round or two. Eventually if fate decrees Kovalev and Beterbiev will meet and I think that the longer reached Krusher would probably win... One thought. If Stalin didn't exist and Russia didn't have an "iron curtain" prohibiting pro Russian fighters to grow, how many world champions would have emerged from the Russian Empire and dominate the MW, LH, and heavyweight divisions .???
You're right. There is a touch of old school in Beterbiev. The KO was amazing. Beterbiev just walked away before his opponent hit the canvas. The uppercut and ripping body shots are back in business. These middles and light heavies are making boxing popular again.
The Communists put a lot of money into Olympic sports. No Communism means less money and thus less developed fighters. I am sure a few would still have come through, but I doubt it changes pro history that much. Amateur wise, the USA would have picked up a lot more Olympic medals.
He was a monster and with the KO he just turned around and walked away, like, yeah I did that people:deal Bad mofo:good :smoke
People seem to forget Biev actually beat Kovalev in the amateurs. It's a thing. You know who beat Mosley the first time and the second time when he looked invincible? Vernon Forest - a guy who had beaten Mosley in the amateurs. That's also the same reason why Tyson Fury never fought David Price in the pros when he was a perfect opponent at many occasions. All in all, I'm not saying Biev will definitely beat Kovalev, but I believe he has the best chance out of all fighters in HW. One more reason is that one of Kovalev's best weapons, keeping his cool, will not be in place against Biev whom he has a long standing feud with. There can be a lot of Russian slur exchange on the ring and we might see stuff we never saw before in a Kovalev fight, such as keep fighting after the bell, clinchings turn into wrestlings, intentional headbutts and so on.
