I know Derry hasn't won yet & is by far the underdog,but say he pulls it off & beats Abril. He's publicly stated he'll defend Against Ant Crolla... I believe Derry will aim to be true to his word, he knows he got the shot from Ant's Mis fortune... My question is.. Would this actually happen? I know both fighters would be keen, the fans would be keen, we all know it is a good match up & we all know it would sell... However the politics between FW & matchroom tell me it wouldn't .. If it was too go ahead I'd hold judgement until we see what condition Ant returns in, but if he's as promising as when he was last out, I'd favour him.
Nah that's my thoughts, though I'm not sure how long derry has with him. He may be coming to the end of his terms - though too up an leave after he's secured him the shot in the first place is a bit quenstionable moral wise
Yeh but I think derry is a little different. He'd look bang out of order if he did. He actually made a big song & dance about rejoining FW , then he's delivered this fight & to jump ship would be bang out..
Derry would be willing but as mentioned before FW wouldn't let it happen. Don't think him or Hearn would be willing to negotiate with each other to make a fight unfortunately.
