11-0 still fighting journeymen at the moment, should he be the headline act at this stage? :think

The Newcastle crowd seemed to think so last week. And might i add he was only headlining because of an injury to Saunders a week before.

On the basis of what he's doing as a boxer, then no. On who he is, and how well known he is because of the Olympics / sky sports hype then probably yes.

Hearn realises he can sell thousands of tickets on the back of Joshua Vs TBA. They've not even sold 1/5 the tickets for Birmingham so that's why he said he's adding him to that card as well. If people keep paying to see Joshua fight cans, he'll keep throwing him in with them and pass it off as keeping him busy.

yep, if he fights kingpin at Birmingham it'll be a half decent test. its a lot easier to sell £40quid tickets for AJ headlining then it is for Frankie gavin.

Is AJ confirmed on this card yet btw? heard something about callum smith being on too.

It's Kingpin on the 30th May mate, but in an interview with Kugan after his fight on Saturday both him and Eddie said he'll be on the May 2nd card in Birmingham. If he's fighting Johnson end of May, it'll be a seriously pointless fight in Birmingham.

Nice bit of easy money for Joshua I suppose and more exposure, plus I think Gavin will be off the May 2nd card now, so Sky/Hearn need something to save the show.

Well you have a lot of the British public that are going mad for him, so you would have to say yes. In terms of does he deserve to yet? No

One thing that seems to bother me here...why is AJ being treated like the first person in boxing to fight journeymen for his first 10 fights? The Americans are saying the same (mostly), despite their great HW champ fighting Gavern in like his 30th fight or something.

AJ is getting a hard time in here of late. If he's in the Brum bill at all no matter who he's fighting , it could be used for shedding some of the ring rust he showed in Newcastle, hadn't fought in 5 months prior and his timing looked off.

After the KJ fight it's time to move him up in class for each fight but atm he's been a pro for 18 months and is being moved along accordingly and in the right manner imo.

Kevin Johson never been knocked out and has been it with Klitschko, Fury and Chisora, and the very least we might find out about AJ's stamina.

Baffles me too, then when I am reasonable and say well actually it is something that every prospect does, I get called a fanboy. Haha
