Brook is a special fighter make no mistake about it. He can beat most welterweights out there. He could become one of the best welterweights of his generation but unfortunately eddie hearn is using him as a cash cow and it makes me think are fighters better off just having a manager, not a promoter type of person. Hearn matching brook with frankie gavin is just a real example of how hypocritical he is getting. I'm brooks biggest fan but even i can't deny that eddie hearn maybe killing brook's career. A good promoter/manager doesn't only go with one fight option. Its like hearn will die if he doesn't get the khan fight. I want to see brook vs khan but for god sake, Brook does not need khan! He can go onto rule the division without fighting khan. Seriously everyday goes by and eddie hearn is just getting more and more annoying. Rant over.
1) Kell is not special. 2) No he can't beat most welters out there. He is still unproved at WW. 3) His 'career' has already been killed. He's had one meaningful title shot in 11 odd years a s a pro. Eddie f*cked me off with his 'If Gavin/Bradley is the mandatory for Kell, why not match up Gavin with Kell?" - So Gavin beats Bradley, hey Edd? ****!
Kell is very good, could maybe prove to be special Kell is better than Amir Khan Kell would KO Amir Khan Kell's career has just started.. theres gonna be many big nights ahead for Kell
Senchenko in 2013... when was the last time Khan did? Brook has 1 good win- Porter and 1 decent win - Senchenko Khan has 1 good win - Maidana and 3 decent wins Alexander, Malignaggi, Kotelnik. But the difference is Khan has lost 3 times to guys that Brook would have for breakfast. and Brooks resume is just going to get better and better he's a current world champion.. Khan hasn't been world champ since 2010 Kell is on the way up, Khan is on the way down.
Brook was on for a trilogy against Carson Jones. So pipe down, son. Senchenko is world class? Where is he ranked now? His best win was the ghost of Ricky Hatton.
but Alexander beat Maidana. Khan also beat Judah who was champion at the time and just beaten Lucas Mattheyse. I dont count the loss to PEDerson as I think that was a robbery and no way Brook beats Garcia, Mattheyse couldn't beat him no way Brook would.
Garcia was very lucky to get a decision against Herrera not so long ago. Garcia is good but not that good.
He may have got a gift against Herrera but he's good enough to beat brook who may have beaten Porter but that's because never really threw any straight punches he tried to wrestle and swarm brook who was too strong for him. Jones threw punches at Brook in the first fight and that made him struggle and Senchenko had him on ***** street but didn't follow it up. Anyone with decent punch resistant and decent punch power and be willing to trade can beat Brook and Garcia posesses all 3 qualities.
Whilst Brook barely s****ed past his best win in Porter who got a gift vs Julio Diaz, Khan absolutely outclassed fighters who were 2 weight world champions, 5 time world champions etc etc. I cant predict what Brook capable of until he fights world class opposition back to back rated within the top 10 and not the likes of Jo Jo dan and Frankie Gavin and then bum bum Rios a punching bag. Will he ever step up? I doubt it.
Seeing as Brook only fought the other day and the proposed Gavin fight is only 6 weeks away I don't have a problem with Hearn putting the fight on. It's a rare event for a world champion to fight so regularly so it is almost a bonus and it's not like its getting in the way of a better fight as a top fighter probably wouldn't take it with such short notice. Frankie will be battered and he's performed like **** recently but I would rather see a Brit get the shot then some euro trash like Dan. Hearn did a good job at keeping Brook mandatory despite the pull outs so he deserves credit for that. The big problem is going forward can Eddie get the deals done to get the big boys over- you would think not but let's see.
No, Kell cant take a big fight on May 30th, it is too soon so I don't blame him for looking fir a fringe contender. Gavin however is too far, he hasn't proven himself at euro level yet so to get a world title shot is ridiculous. Kell is a good fighter, world class, but is not and will never be anything 'special'. He is way too basic of a fighter to be 'special'. Kell's main strengths are that he is very solid in that he is difficult to break down and he throws his straight punches very well, so he frustrates his opponent. Hearn has done a great job with Kell in my opinion and if he can get him a million pound plus for fighting Gavin then happy days. I like Kell and I think he will beat Rios in the summer, then beat another good contender like Maidana for example, early in 2016 and then face Khan in the summer once Khan has the ***** to face him. No one give me any grief for saying that about Khan because anyone that has been on here long enough knows I am a Khan fan, I have that fight close to 50/50 with a slight swing towards Khan on points, but to be honest I don't care who wins I just want to see the fight.
