Do you think Anthony Joshua should be headling shows yet?

The difference is obvious that only someone with a brain defect would miss it.

Other HW champs who had their first 10 journeymen were not being called future world champs and hyped up as being the best boxer on the planet who would destroy that would be put in front of them.

They kept their head down and got on with it and were not having 4 documentaries and headlining shows after getting through 10 bums.

 

And looked what happened to both of those hype jobs.

You'd have hoped lessons would've been learnt, about pulling on the pressure so early, on fighters who are yet to prove themselves.

Because sooner or later people are going to want these guys who are lauded as the best thing since slice bread, get into the ring with someone worthwhile.

And then they get rushed in with someone and they end up way over their hand and get exposed.

This is exactly what is going to happen with AJ but I will not feel sorry for him, because at the minute he believes his own hype

 

In fairness there is a real interest in Anthony Joshua's progression. Like with the recent Geordie Roar event, having Joshua on the bill significantly bumped up ticket sales and his withdrawal from January's Capital Punishment event saw the attendance dip.

If people are genuinely paying to see Joshua then I guess that must make him a headliner or maybe more so a co-headliner. Saying that I do hope he significantly steps up in class this year (even after the King Pin fight).
