Who are Mexican Fans Pulling For: Manny or Floyd?

His habitual fight date of May 2 Cinco De Mayo nonwithstanding, over the years Floyd has done his best to ingratiate himself with the Mexican fans, even going as far as to wear a sombrero into the ring against De La Hoya, and wearing the Mexican flag on his shorts during the Maidana fight. Floyd knows Mexicans make up a huge bulk of PPV buys.

Manny on the other hand, built the foundation of his legacy with the Morales/Barrera/JMM fights. Also Pac has more of a Mexican style, in that he's aggressive, loves to engage and has that warrior spirit.

Does anybody have an idea what the general consensus is among Mexicans in this fight as to who they're rooting for?

I have the theory that no real mexican would cheer for a boring, ***** ass negative punk who is the complete opposite of a warrior in the ring.

Mexicans are supposed to hate this kind of fighters even if they're from mexico *points at Miguel Vazquez or Carlos Molina's nonexistent fanbases*

My guess is Mexico will be rooting for the one true warrior in that ring:

You're not Mexican yet you know all about them right? Even if you were Mexican, one opinion isn't the consensus. The Mexicans in my group who chip in for PPV are 2 Pac 1 Floyd.

 

Most mexicans i know wants past prime to win.
Most boricuans i know wants past prime to win.
Most brothers i know want past prime to win.
all hetero***uals want past prime to win.
A number of *******uals wants floyd to win.

if I was to make a guess ... Floyd. I think Mexicans like Floyd. I think most people like Floyd even though some of them talk negatively about him

 

I know all about mexicans, I used to have a mexican girlfriend.
believe it, if a mexican fighter did the same stuff Floyd did against Maidana (like his theatre antics over a nonexistent bite or running like a ***** in the last round just waiting for the bell to sound) he'd be immediately disowned and lynched by the fans on the media

ofc there'll be mexicans who'll support Floyd, but they'll be in the minority
and most of them will be those typical, casual glory hunters who just root for ¨the favourites¨ all the time, and dont know / care a **** about boxing

 

at my gym all mexicans will be rooting for pac, so will most puerto ricans.

 

Mexicans love aggresive warriors and ***** to the wall fighters. In local boxing matches they even encourage the aggressive boxers with "go Pacquiao" cheers. They hate what Pac done to their hero's but admire Pac's warrior heart.

 

just like they disowned oscar de la hoya too right?... far as i know he was the highest ppv attraction ever...i guess people didnt disown him for the tito debacle like you claim would be the case for floyd.. believe it or not their is a huge rivarly between mexicans and filipinos, and i know people who hate filipinos so dont hold your breath with that statement.:rofl

 

You do know de la Hoya had a lot of backing from Mexican-Americans. Plus, he was American.

Mexicans from Mexico absolutely despise Mayweather. Hell, they were the ones that disowned Canelo after his display against Mayweather. Just look at his PPV numbers after that fight.

de la Hoya had a lot of backing from Mexican-Americans which are usually different from Mexicans from Mexico. I find it funny how people who aren't even f^cking Mexican come out of the wood-work to talk about Mexicans.

"Oh, my best friend is a Mexican," or "my girlfriend is Mexican." As if that makes you a leading expert on Mexicans.
