I can see exactly where Frampton's coming from with this.

Hearn pulling the wool over peoples eyes...

I just hope both teams can give/take from either side and get this fight on.

Wee Barry suffering from Wee Man syndrome.

Clearly has a massive inferiority complex with regards to Hearn, and why shouldn't he.

Frampton is clearly a talented fighter, i have a feeling his advisors will be his downfall.

Didn't Barry say that Quigg had no fans, no proper title, and nowhere near the ability of Frampton ? If thats the case its a 25 minute plane ride, that i'm sure Framptons fans will take.

    Its a no brainer.

spot on, the irish are all a lot like Wee Barry though and therefore don't have enough brain cells to work this out

Frampton can fight forever at the Odyssey, but i'm guessing he will be fighting for peanuts compared to the offer Hearn has made him.

Beating Quigg in Manchester in front of a big crowd and TV audience would do far more for his career and bank balance, than fighting in Belfast every few months with only ITV showing any interest.

If frampton thinks he is worth more than 1.5 million then barry should come up with an offer which earns his fighter more than that but unfortunately on itv each fighter would earn 500k. It's pathetic they won't take the fight. They said in the Avalos fight they were willing to travel, now it's "why should we leave Belfast". Il tell you why, 1.5 million. And he's harping on that he has more options than quigg. He doesnt. Neither wants to fight rigondeaux and neither will manage to get Santa Cruz in the ring he is being wrapped in cotton wool. Other than fighting each other or one of those 2 opponents pretty much every other fight for either man is a waste of time. They man as well just be honest and release a statement saying barry is devastated he can't make himself loads of cash from this fight like he thought he could, hearn has more backing, money and business sense and barry is very upset. Therefore we won't fight as we have a massive sense of self importance. Wouldn't surprise me if Barry employs his nephew or another family member to be his dummy picker upper and gives him a percentage of framptons purse along with the rest of the mcguigan family

You just hit the nail square on the head and drove it through the four by two.

Has there been any mention of options in the proposed fight contract?

I'd imagine Hearn has made a loaded offer i.e £1.5million but it you beat Quigg your mine for the next 2-3 fights.

We will never know the full story, but certainly theres bitterness on both sides here, from Eddie (due to fact Carl left Matchroom) & from Barry (due to fact his resources will never match that of Sky/Hearn).

One thing that is certain, Quigg has damn all paying fans its a fact. Frampton does, but Frampton fights never did really big numbers on Sky either.

Ideal solution here would be to bring the PPV to Belfast, host it at Windsor Park/ Ravenhill or somewhere with higher attendance. As that offer stands, Matchroom stand to make a killing in terms of profit.
