Before you jump down my throat please hear me out.

Kell Brook was going to be out till mid June.

But I stead he's taken a keep busy voluntary fight in May and put his big June fight back till July.

That being said, is Gavin-Brook worse than no fight at all.?
    NO

Gavin is a good fighter and if Brook wasn't fighting him, he wouldn't be fighting at all.

His big summer fight has only been put back s few weeks and he's still going to be in s good fight this summer.

    So why is everyone moaning?

Gavin is really talented. The only real problems he has are his lack of power, lack of strength and not getting real momentum in his career.

His weaknesses are against big tough fighters with core strength snd power. So I think Brook will win as I think Bradley would have won too due to the same reasons.

But hopefully Gavin can bring his skills and cause Brook a few problems so I honestly don't think it's a bad fight at all. Not when you look at all the facts and weigh up the pros and cons.

Plus this means Joshua will get out again on May 9th and rack another win up (regardless of opposition it's still a nice step forward to him)

Also we get another world title fight on the O2 card.

Come on guys. Just look past the black and White and understand what this fight actually is.

Kell Brook should have 3 world title fights in 2 months. How is that a bad thing when the 3 fights are a mandatory, number 5 and probably Rios. That's s good 2 months for any world champ.

not with how many great fights that could be made in the coming weeks.

Gavin's pro career just hasn't lived up to billing its just people being disappointed with who two brits are fighting at the mo when they are in the same division

Its all a bit pointless though, oh and not exciting in the slightest. I have no desire to watch this fight.

I have a feeling with both brook and Gavin's clash of styles this fight will be a real stinker, kell will catch Gavin eventually, he's too big for Gavin and that little bit sharper.

I don't mind it as its a fairly good domestic fight but with this and brooks last fight the Americans may start to loose interest and that's where the big money gets made. If Hearn doesn't get brook a fight with either thurman, Bradley, Marquez or maidana next then his team are idiots!

I guess because they were talking about rios end of may rather than "no fight at all" but no brook vs Gavin isn't the worst fight in the world and adds to an already decent card

I agree I really dont think this is that bad at all.

Gavin will be the best technical fighter that Brook has fought by a long way for me. If Kell comes in and just tries to blast Frankie out he could find himself taking plenty in the early rounds. I also agree that Frankie does not seem to have the power to keep Brook off him for 12 rounds and the champs core strength will also pose problems for the challenger.

That having been said I would rather see the two of them fight each other than Brook against another Dan Ion type opponent and Frankie in a mark time fight on the Birmingham bill.

Get it signed it might surprise a few.

I don't disagree that it's not the worst fight; but Gavin leaves me so utterly underwhelmed when I watch him that these seem leagues apart. Brook is just too big and strong and I can't see this going past 10.

Gavin has always needed to sort his conditioning out.

His stamina may be alright but he's got no core strength and no punch power.

And his biggest weakness is against guy who poses strength and power.

You could see Bundu over powering him. Gavin showed some real class and great talent throughout that fight but he was oversized and overpowered.

But like I said, he wasn't going to fight at all in May so as far as I'm concerned it's good thet he's being active against a decent opponent.

Gavin is better then anyone else they could get. Realistically here. Don't say "he should be fighting Thurman or Khan"

This is s quick keep busy fight before the big summer fight

As long as he gets a big fight in July then I have no problem with him staying busy in this fight. No one's slagging Golovkin for fighting Monroe Jr, are they?

NOBODY wants to fight Golovkin though, that's the difference. Many people want a piece of Kell at 147.
