He's had a single fight at that weight and lost. So nobody.

But I ask you; who has Gavin beat at 147 that is world class?

Kell only fought a fortnight ago and wants a keep busy fight in 6wks time.

Khan has not fought since December, and has chosen someone who has beaten nobody of note at 147, and someone he knows wont be able to trouble him with power.

If Kell hadn't fought anyone since December, then cherry picked Frankie Gavin - you may have had a point.

Here's a crazy thought but hear me out. What if...wait for it...Khan fought Brook?
Brook's better than Algieri, Khan's better than Gavin, Brook wants the fight, the money's on the table...makes sense to me.

Rios has asked Brook for the fight if you believe the web

Algeri/Gavin are both opponents for guys who think they pose a threat to Manny or Floyd.. Both are keep busy fights and both frustrating for fans

Great Fight - only 1 loss between them which was a split against a decent opponent , cant wait , and cant wait for gavin to bring the belt to brum

potentially brook could get his head boxed off - this is a massive risk

I'd rather watch this than Brook fight an unknown-ish chap from unkown-land.

However, I do slightly begrudge Gavin getting a shot and a payday (such is my prerogative). He's been underwhelming in all senses as a Pro, and seeing people keep typing about his 'talent' is almost as coma-inducingly boring as listening to the guy in interviews.

    Hee hee.

I agree that Gavin does not deserve this on current form. I had huge hopes for Gavin when he turned pro, as he has all the skills in the world. The transition to the pro game has been hard for him though. He still has far too much of that amateur style.

Problem is IBF ratings haven't left Brook with many options:

    1. Dan Ion- Just Beat
    2. Not Rated
    3. Timothy Bradley- Coming off a draw and a loss
    4. Amir Khan- Fighting Algeri
    5. Frankie Gavin
    6. Shawn Porter- Just Beat Him
    7. Diego Chaves- Coming off a draw and a loss
    8. Devon Alexander- Coming off a loss
    9. Sadam Ali- Dangerous fighter who's unknown- wouldn't sell to casuals
    10. Kevin Bizier- Lost to Dan twice who Brook spanked
    11. Antonin Decairie- Lost everytime he's stepped up
    12. Fredrick Lawson- Unknown with high KO percentage
    13. Chris Van Heerden- Decent South African, not really known over here (would have liked to have seen the Gavin fight that was supposed to have happened)
    14. Josesito Lopez- Just Lost to Berto
    15. Yoshihiro Kamegai- Just lost to Gomez

Ideally from that list- you'd want to see Bradley maybe Berto (as I'm guessing he'll be in the rankings now), but the IBF depth is pretty awful

(Not defending Brook/Hearn btw, in case anyone jumps on me for it!)

He has done his mandatory. He doesn't have to fight an IBF ranked fighter, does he?

Just out of interest...do people think Algieri would beat Gavin at 147?

Could have fought Bradley, Thurman, Porter rematch but opted for Gavin. What else did you expect Brookta rds, his history consists of 33 Tomato cans, make that 34 on May 30th. By the way Algerie is better than Rios and would beat him and thats Brooks next fight, probably again on ppv. What a farce. Eddie Hearn and that Tranny sounding gi mp need to just fu ck off!
