anyone know whats happened with willie? last i heard he was fighting chris jenkins for his british title, then it was jenkins vs nurse (not sure if that was for british). does willie still have the british or has he been given the shot at the euro belt?

willie isnt getting any younger and i'd like to see him get his shot at the euro belt but he really needs to get fighting imo

Willie Limond pulled out with a shoulder injury a couple of weeks ago. Then it suppose to be Chris Jenkins v Tyrone Nurse fighting for the vacant British title. However since then Chris Jenkins has been forced to withdraw so tbh have absolutely no idea what's happening to the British title.

that's a shame but willie really does need to get a move on at this time of his career. if he is injured then i wish him a speedy recovery. very underrated he is and i'd like to see him vs ricky burns. i would fancy willie if that were to happen.

my thought exactly, imo if willie had frank w arren guding his career he would have easily achieved the same if not more than ricky burns. im not slating what ricky done in the slightest but imo willie has more natural ability and far superior boxing skills. im sure most will agree with that, you have to admire ricky though at 1 time he looked as though he was domestic level but went on to win 2 world titles at 2 weights.

It's very fine lines between what both have done. They are actually quite similar in standard. Just shows one gets the breaks one doesn't.

willie would tell you himself he's not had much luck in boxing but for you to say there's a very fine line between what the two have archived is ridiculous, Willie is a excellent fighter but Ricky and you can't get this into your thick head is a TWO weight WORLD CHAMP, not north east of Scotland the WORLD, I trained both and there is a big difference, remember Dave willie won two titles whilst I trained him and was considered very unlucky against Amir Khan, that night may of changed his life had he won, however after that it seemed nobody wanted to risk fighting him and he had long periods of inactivity

My point is they are actually very similar. One has had the rub of the green one has not it's simple. If you genuinely think Ricky was the best in the World you don't have a clue. He won't go down as a Scottish Great. You actually compares him to Buchannan? I would' not even compare that record to Watt and Harrison would have him about on par with Alex Arthur who beat him.

i agree with the khan fight he was very unlucky and it was a very long count!! what titles did he win under you? i thought he won titles with peter harrison before he left him and once he returned to him? like i said in my statement if frank had guided willie he could have achieved what ricky did but as it is he is 35/36 and never fought for the proper euro belt even with all his skill.

but he has defenitely been in the ring with the better fighter and even you cant dispute that billy!!!!!!!!!! erik morales is a genuine boxing superstar and no one ricky fought comes near to him. and before anyone says he was finished erik won the world title again a couple of fights after he beat willie.

really with aaa (****hole alex arthur) who won world title by default then lost it against nicky cook in his first defense?? ok alex beat ricky when he was a youngster but ricky had beat better fighters than alex. i agree with lots you have said in the past but not that ricky is on par with alex arthur.
