Did Miroshnichenko stop Lewis? I know he beat him but I've not heard he stopped him.

Lewis was stopped by Valeriy Abadzhyan and lost on points to Miroshnichenko and Vyacheslav Yakovlev.

1985-11-06 +91kg Vyacheslav Yakovlev URS Lennox Lewis CAN 5:0

    Intercup - Karlsruhe, FRG - April 24 - May 1 1988 +91kg Alexandr Miroshnichenko URS Lennox Lewis CAN 5:0

1986-10-?? +91 kg Valeriy Abadzhyan Lennox Lewis CAN W RSC 3 Berlin, GDR TSC Tournament Quarter-Final

Guys, you do realize that calling ukrainians for russians can get you killed in Ukraine right? :D

Vitaly & Wlad are ukrainians. Sugar Valuev would probably go all 12 and lose all rounds

What does Mavrovic have to do with Vitali's fight with Lennox? :huh

Cheers. I remember reading about him dying. :-(

The loss against Bowe in the Olympics was razor-close IIRC. I remember him dropping and hurting Bowe with body shots in that one.

Lewis was in good shape for his age for that fight. Give it up.

Give what up? When have I said that Lewis was not in a good shape for that fight? You are grasping at straws mate. The fact of the matter is that an old, unmotivated, past his prime, overweight Lennox Lewis stopped a prime, hungry, fully motivated Vitali and no amount of arguing will change that.

There is no need to make excuses for Lewis in that fight - he stopped a prime, fully-motivated Vitali Klitschko. The end.

You can spend hours trying to prove that Lennox was in his prime and in the best shape of his life in the Vitali fight, but it won't change anything. TKO 6 :deal

I believe we've already seen lewis with russian boxers and he lost to some, got dropped by some, so all this thread is pure bull. Russians known for good chins while brits are glassiest most fragile people on the planet.

The thread clearly states: "prime, fully-motivated Lennox Lewis with Emanuel Steward in his corner", yet, you bring up his amateur career... What's next, you are going to find proof that some Russian kid beat up Lennox when he was in high school? :tired Pathetic.

What was the name of the Russian guy that stopped him in the ams?? Beat him twice I think...

Not sure if Lewis fought him a third time or if his mom didn't let him.

This was actually one of those ugly truths they turned around and lie about to suit their agenda. Lewis was heavier for that fight indeed but the extra weight was muscle. I recall reading notes from his training camp on how he was setting personal lifting and running records during his preparations.
