Danny was just hitting air. Ineffective aggression, whilst Peterson was landing the jab and a few nice right hands. Scored it 9-3 Peterson, and you could tell from Garcias body language after the fight and interview he knew he lost tonight.
I'm not sure if he swept them, would have to watch again.. but he clearly won some of those rounds. Garcia hit nothing but air, arms and gloves.
Lamont's punches during those rounds were extremely weak. At least Garcia landed some harder body shots. No way Lamont won those rounds. He ran far too much.
Exactly. Peterson won this fight rather easily. Swift mainly punched air and hit Lamont on the right thigh, and no low blows were called. The protection Garcia gets is disgusting.
i had it 7-5 danny. same as other 2 judges... i had it 6-3 for danny after 9...Peterson didnt do enough to win the early rounds...he was dancing and running away while not throwing enough effective punches...stupid strategy. it cost him the fight. he clearly had more gas left than danny at the end and shouldve started pressuring earlier
Lamont didn't land much in the first 4 rounds himself. Danny landed more cleaner and clear shots to the head and body early in the fight. He started the fight like 5-1
If you blindly follow the Showtime commentary and Farhoods lousy scorecard then sure. Watch the first 4 rounds again, Garcia landed absolutely nothing, Lamont might not have been throwing the hardest shots but unlike Danny he was connecting. Hell, Danny was even cut by the end of the first round
Nope. You could give him 3 and 4 I think, but he didn't "sweep" the first two. I can't really see him winning them tbh.
Completely agree with this I had Lamont winning the first 5. Garcia did next to nothing in those rounds.
