    A fight?

He could have had JMM out of there, and he definitely could have stopped Canelo.

But he NEVER goes for the kill, why?

Pacquiao couldn't KO JMM in four fights. Short of getting lucky and planting him into a turnbuckle, I'm not sure what Floyd could do to him.

I doubt he could have stopped Canelo

But yes, he rarely goes for it and thats why a lot of people don't appreciate him

If the "three knockdown' rule was in effect, Manny would have wiped JMM out inside a round.

    @ fruitpunch - Canelo's out-put combined with the weight-cut was a recipe for a Floyd finish.

Round 7 he could have done the job on him. Canelo was sitting on the ropes just trying to survive...

What does he lose by not going for the kill? Last I checked he's still the top p4p fighter in boxing, still the highest paid athlete in the world, still the most talked about fighter in the sport. You get to his level and you don't have to kill your opponents, obedience and servitude is better

If your boss haymon has the judges in his payroll, I would be secured in going to a decision even if I ran and hugged all night.

If you get paid a set amount for fighting for 36 minutes and the same for fighting 21 minutes, why not fight for 21 minutes? Because he sure isn't 'entertaining' anyone for the remainder.

Of course the three knockdown rule has always been nonsense and has nothing to do with knocking an opponent OUT anyway. Marquez recovered perfectly well.

How is it nonsense? If you get knocked down legitimately THREE TIMES like Marquez did, the fight should be stopped.

Floyd couldn't finish Marquez. Nobody could. Even if Floyd tried, Marquez would've finished the fight. He's that tough. He took all of Pac and Floyd's best shots and still knocked Pac unconscious for 4 minutes.
