it's clear Floyd gets more joy out of outclassing his opponents than he would get from scoring more ko's but also putting himself in some stupid scenarios, he wants to win no more no less.

he is a winner, and a WIN is a win, the type of win doesn't count differently, you don't get an extra 10 mil for a ko, if you did Floyd would had been a more ko type of fighter

you prove to be such a ****ing idiot and you get worse by the post. Floyd clearly stated after the fight he knew he hurt jmm and felt he is a more dangerous fighter when hurt and desperate.

he said he tested him real quick and felt he recovered fairly well so he thought it was best just to beat the hell out of him.

IF your hero was smarter or IF his trainer was a litter smarter, they would had LEARNED over the previous 42 rounds that jmm is a dangerous fighter when hurt. jmm was recovering in round 6 from a kind of tough round 5, he knocked pac the **** OUT.

I know, you live your days dreaming of Floyd one day tasting the many different types of humble pie your hero has seen, seen really too many times

It's nonsense because the referee should use his discretion to see if a fighter is capable of continuing, not some arbitrary number of knockdowns which may or may not be serious and may or may not be flash knockdowns caused by a quick unseen punch, a trip, a slip etc. A fight is supposed to be decided by points or a knockout, except in the occasions where the referee decides one fighter is unable to continue. Neither of these possible deciding factors were the case in Pacquiao vs Marquez I, or Archie Moore vs Yvon Durelle I, to give another example, and the implementation of the three knockdown rule, rather than common sense on the part of the referee, would have cheated two warriors out of the chance to give a good account of themselves.

Losing a match because it takes you a round to figure out your opponent? Nah, not for me.

I don't think you understand what you're watching in the ring. Floyd ALWAYS tries to see if his opponent is ready to go, YES he did test jmm and almost had him in round 9 or 10. forget which round but he pummeled him into the corner and went to work, he might be to subtle for you to pick up on what he's doing.

wow, you really don't understand what you're watching in the ring. he checks his opponents every fight, he will NOT put himself in a firefight to try for the KO when he's fighting way larger opponents. jmm was smaller yes, but jmm is also a ATG Mexican fighter so respect is expected. your hero could've learned a thing or 2 from real professional prize fighters.

winning is also the 1st 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th MOST important things to any fight. you cant grasp that because your hero has accepted defeat in the past and will again in the future

Floyd is a smart fighter. If you give him an opening, he'll take it. However, he's not going to just barge through the door. It's not like he's going the distance with chumps. He's going 12 rounds with much bigger guys, and/or guys with sturdy chins.

you lost me at "he could have gotten jmm out of there"

the guys NEVER been KO'd and he has fought some ferocious fighters and guys with incredible killer instinct and finishing power.

canelo was lost in there but given the size diff and the fact canelo has a good chin against fellow big JMW's it would be unwise and very risky to try and get a guy like canelo out of there when he was allready outboxing him EASILY.

fights he maybe could have gotten his opponent out? maidana 2 i thought he had him hurt in the middle rounds and a little lost, he seemed to pile on a bit more pressure but then the whole biting scandal happened.

cotto he had rocked in round 12 and i felt floyd TRIED to but just couldn't get his man, not to mention this is one of floyds most competitive fights and seen him throw a lot more punches then he usually does.

guerrero he had completely stunned and lost going into round 7, where he def piled on the pressure and then backed off (he said he broke his hand but thinking back i dont recall any clear sign of it, such as shaking his hand, neglecting to use it etc etc)

floyds training like a beast for pacquiao and couple this with the fact he fights southpaws more offensively and that he really really wants to make a statement we could see some fireworks

i agree the 3 knockdown rule should not exist because like you said, the ref should use his own discretion. THAT BEING SAID, i cant think of a fighter being knocked down in 3 rounds and being fine (apart from marquez)
