Maidana: If I Face Danny Garcia, Nobody Will Save Him!

Former welterweight champion Marcos Maidana (35-5, 31KOs) is ready to greet Danny Garcia (30-0, 17KOs), who appears to be moving up to 147-pounds by the end of the year.

Maidana has been out of the ring since last September's rematch decision loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr. at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Garcia came back last night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, where he gutted out a twelve round majority decision over Lamont Peterson.

Even prior to the Peterson fight, Maidana beat the drum for a showdown with Garcia.

Garcia still holds the WBC/WBA world title at junior welterweight. His last two fights have taken place over the division limit and he says the catch-weight limit of 143-pounds for Peterson was a hindering factor in his performance. He sees no reason to remain at 140-pounds.

Maidana sent a message late Saturday, revealing that he's ready to face Garcia next.

"I don’t care who won tonight, but nobody will save Danny if we fight. I’ll give Danny the real welcome to the welterweight division. Let’s do it," Maidana told his followers

There s no way Danny will face Maidana:-(
If by chance he did then think of Broner @ 147 with Maidana and triple the pain and knock downs.....Danny will never be the same:deal

This would be a very nice debut at 147lb debut for Garcia but I think he'll take a fight against a lesser guy first.

Garcia needs a fight like this to boost his reputation though. The praise he (rightly) received for beating Matthysse has almost been forgotten because of his fights and performances afterwards.

It will be what PEDerson did but from the opening bell
not round 8, oh and with more power, and hurtful shots. Maidana bullies Garcia, and stops him.

Maidana has problems with fast defensive fighters, Garcia is a perfect fight for him, PERFECT i tell you.

Other way round, Maidana will be the one doing the damage.

Maidana getting massively overrated. He fights Danny's fight and Maidana has a much weaker punch resistance.

Garcia has been draining himself. He needs to go 147 and fill out.

Lets see how he looks at welter first.

  14. I'd love to see Garcia-Salka II. Salka was just warming up, but then he got caught.

Maidana has no shame, this is a blatant cherry pick on his part at this point.
